When we brought Titan home, it was obvious that he had some type of skin infection. We initially hoped that medicated baths would clear it up, but it soon became clear that they weren’t enough. We took him to our friends at Healing with Heart Veterinary Care for a checkup, where he was diagnosed with both bacterial and fungal skin infections. He is now being treated with medications, medicated sprays, and continued medicated baths.

He was such a GOOD BOY at the vet! For a shy pup, he hopped right into the car and was much more outgoing and confident than we expected. He was perfectly behaved during his exam, and the staff is already in love with him.

This perfect pup is still available for adoption through Virginia Beach Animal Services

Rousey was quite dramatic during her bath time yesterday. Poor girl. (The soundtrack seems perfect for this one)

Gremlin is just a little mischief machine. It’s almost like having a puppy 😂

-Titan still needs a forever home-

Titan is doing very well in his foster home! We are hoping to arrange meet-and-greets with him at the sanctuary, where he feels comfortable and secure, so potential adopters can truly see his personality and how he behaves in a home environment.
Titan is a 5.5-year-old male bulldog mix. He is 100% housebroken and incredibly laid-back with low energy in the home. He is exceptionally quiet—we haven’t heard him bark even once in more than two weeks. Titan stays off the furniture, has excellent house manners, and can be trusted in the home.
While he enjoys having dog friends outside of his home, he prefers not to share his personal space and would do best as an only dog. We have not observed any negative behaviors. Quite simply, he is one of the easiest dogs you could hope to have.
Because Titan can be timid when leaving his safe space, he did not show well in the shelter environment. However, once settled into a home, he is absolutely perfect.
After spending more than a year in the shelter, our hope is that Titan never has to return and can finally find the loving forever home he deserves.

Yesterday was Grizzly’s 2 year gotcha day (he joined the Rejects on 6/1/24) and his unofficial 13th birthday. He is one of our longest residents and we are so happy with how he is doing.

Please continue sharing Titan’s information so we can help him find the perfect forever home.

Foster update on Titan: We’ve now had Titan for 10 days, and he is an AMAZING pup.

He is super chill and very low maintenance. All he wants is a comfy dog bed and some belly rubs from his people. He is calm, quiet, and easygoing.

Titan is 100% housebroken, very well-mannered, and can be trusted when left alone in the house. He doesn’t seem to have any desire to get on the furniture, and he hasn’t barked even once.

While Titan is friendly with other dogs on walks, he can be possessive of his toys and personal space, so he would do best as the only dog in the home.

Because he is such a low-maintenance and wonderful pup, we have agreed to continue fostering him with the hope that he never has to return to the shelter.

Titan is available for adoption through Virginia Beach Animal Services and is being fostered at our sanctuary.

Happy Gotcha Day to The Gremlin!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Against all odds (and better judgment), today we made the decision to adopt The Gremlin. He was not available for general adoption—only transfer to a rescue. No one wanted him. He was set to be euthanized. After meeting him, we understood that decision, but we decided we could at least give him one good week with us.

We gave him more time because, despite his many, MANY issues, he seemed happy. As the weeks passed, he became a different dog—one full of joy and only about 10% homicidal maniac. And somewhere along the way, we fell in love with The Gremlin.

He is not an easy pup, but he certainly is a Reject. This is where he belongs.
