Rubicon’s Intermediate Musical Theatre Camp presents Roald Dahl’s JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH JR, adapted from the classic novel with music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the music team behind “Dear Evan Hansen” “The Greatest Showman” and more!

Young James lives a miserable life with his two cruel aunts until a spilled bag of magic turns an ordinary peach into something extraordinary. Inside it, he finds a group of oversized insects who become the family he never had. Together they ride the peach across the ocean in search of a new home.

Double, double, toil and trouble…

The only trouble you’ll be having is if you miss out on The Jack Oakie & Victoria Horne Oakie Charitable Foundation 2026 Fearless Shakespeare Intensive’s production of MACBETH at Rubicon Theatre!

👑 The classic tale of a victorious Scottish general, hailed by three witches as a future king, who lets ambition and his wife’s urging drive him to murder his way to the throne, followed by a swift descent into paranoia, bloodshed, and madness.

Shakespeare’s shortest tragedy is also his most haunting, a story of conscience, power, and the cost of getting exactly what you wished for.

Just remember, when you’re inside the theater, please refer to it as THE SCOTTISH PLAY. We’re not necessarily superstitious, but it’s better to be safe than sorry! 🤐

Looking for a meaningful summer opportunity for your middle or high schooler?

Rubicon Theatre Company is seeking volunteers ages 12+ to assist with our Stinky Feet Theatre Project, part of The Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Summer Youth Programs, running June 8–28.

Volunteers will work directly with our youngest performers (ages 5–11) leading theatre games and warm-up exercises, supporting the director during rehearsals, and helping backstage during performances.

It's a hands-on, confidence-building experience on a professional mainstage — and it qualifies toward high school community service and volunteering requirements.

Orientation is Friday, May 30th and spots are limited, so we'd love to hear from you soon!

If your teen is already enrolled in our Intermediate Musical Theatre Camp or Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop later this summer, this is a wonderful way to ease into the season and get comfortable in the space. 🌟

🤯 Did you know that Eleanor Roosevelt visited Ventura County?!

In her syndicated newspaper column, “My Day,” Eleanor wrote about a November 1954 trip she took to California that included a stop in Rubicon’s hometown and a stay at The Pierpont Inn!

“On Monday I drove over to Ventura right after lunch. It had been planned for me to fly over in the morning but my hostess, Mrs. Alphonzo Bell, said she was going to see a niece and that it was a short drive, only a little over an hour. So Mrs. Neil Stiver, who had invited me to lunch, changed her lunch party to a tea party and Miss Corr and I were deposited at the Pierpont Inn in Ventura at 3:45 P.M.”

After joining “a very pleasant party” at the Ojai Country Club, which she described as “beautifully situated with mountains all around,” Eleanor attended a town hall meeting sponsored by Ventura Junior College, followed by a reception hosted by the local chapter of the American Association for the U.N.

“It is challenging to find such good audiences for discussions of international topics. They told me this meeting, which was attended by 1,400 people, was the best they had had and I am always delighted to find that there is so much interest in knowing what the U.N. really does.”

🎶 This Sunday, celebrate the music we love while supporting the next generation of young artists at SONGS WE LOVE, a one-night-only education benefit concert filled with beautiful music and longtime Rubicon connections.

This special evening features concert pianist Miriam Arichea and soprano Madeline Gambon in a program of classical masterworks and beloved musical theatre songs at the beautiful Poinsettia Pavilion. 🎹🎭

For Rubicon audiences, this concert also carries a sweet full-circle story. Madeline first sang on Rubicon Theatre’s stage at age 12, in the children’s choir. The pianist that night was Miriam Arichea. On Sunday, May 17th, they share the stage again. ✨

Miriam has led Rubicon’s Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop and summer youth programs since 2011. Madeline is a Rubicon summer youth alumna whose early time at Rubicon helped shape her creative path.

Arrive at 4:30 for a glass of wine. Stay for an evening of music, memory, and meaning. 🍷Every ticket supports Rubicon Theatre Company’s Education Department and helps continue the programs that give young artists a place to learn, grow, and find their voice. 🌟
