In conjunction with National Safe Boating Week, the U.S. Coast Guard Station Channel Islands will host its 16th Annual Safe Boating Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, May 16th, at Harbor East Park, 3874 Murre Way, Oxnard. Admission and parking are free.

Event to include free tours of first responder vessels, in-water rescue demos at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., food truck, booths, raffle prizes, and more.

Rain in the forecast this Saturday, but Ventura County Farm Day is still on.

Over15 Ventura County farms, ranches and agricultural organizations will open their doors to the public to experience a day of free agricultural activities and tours during the 13th Annual Ventura County Farm Day this Saturday, April 11th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The day includes behind-the-scenes tours, tractor-with-trailer rides, tastings, giveaways and kid-friendly activities. Farm Day allows the public to meet local farmers who grow the food we eat.

Check the Farm Day Trail Map at vcfarmday.org/map for the latest list of participants. Some locations require reservations.

Ventura County Astronomical Society hosts Evening Under the Stars this Saturday, October 18th from 7PM – 10PM at the Charles Temple Observatory at Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Road.

The public is invited to this free, family-friendly night of stargazing under the autumn sky! Enjoy a live, guided tour of the night sky, featuring stars, planets, and constellations visible during the fall season. Learn how to identify galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Dress for evening temperatures. Event is weather-dependent and may be canceled due to thick clouds, rain, or high winds. Learn more at www.vcas.org.
