Many times, our surfers show up reserved, emotionless, and keeping to themselves. But then something changes… They get in the ocean, catch a wave, and before we know it, all we see is PURE JOY!! 🤩 The kind of happiness that is completely contagious!

The child who may have hidden their emotions when they first stepped onto the sand is now smiling from ear to ear, laughing, and cheering on their peers. It truly is an incredible thing to witness!

September is here! Save the dates! 🗓️ We are excited to surf with everyone this month 🤙🏽

📍 Ventura - September 26th 1:00pm-4:00pm
📍 Santa Barbara- September 12th 1:00pm-4:00pm
📍 San Diego - September 26th 11:00am-2:00pm

*Yes, Ventura and San Diego will be held on the same day this month!*

🌊 Registration opens 4 weeks prior to the event date. Volunteers can sign up for multiple event locations!

When our surfers enter the water with their instructors, they have the opportunity to just be kids! They begin to build trust, conquer fears, find confidence, and experience a beautiful freedom that comes from knowing they aren’t alone as they face the waves.

Through MTC we offer surf therapy, mentorship, and connection, and hope to create a space where every child feels supported!!

WELCOME SANTA BARBARA MTC FAMILY ⭐️

What started as a vision to share the gift of surfing with youth in foster care in our own backyard in Ventura, is continuing to GROW! As we open new chapters, expand into new communities, and bring the MTC family to even more kids, we would LOVE to invite you to join us!

Every new location means more opportunities to build trust, create connection, conquer fear, and remind kids they are More Than Conquerors!! (But we can’t do it without YOU!)

Over the last five years we have been blown away by the support from our local communities. We have had so many incredible people and businesses show up for MTC and the kids we serve!

At MTC, we believe what we have been given is meant to be shared. Our time, gifts, resources, and our love.

MTC started with a vision to teach youth in foster care how to surf… Now our community is helping turn that dream into so much more. 💙

From catching waves to exploring museums ~ our kiddos are getting opportunities to learn, grow, and experience new things together!
