We are excited to partner in creative efforts that bring more public art, energy, and interactive experiences to our community!

Projects like "Light Up Wabash" help create vibrant spaces that inspire connection, creativity, and discovery, and we are grateful to collaborate with community partners like Becky Hochhalter - Artist and See You In Terre Haute who believe in the power of public art to transform spaces.

The Light Up Wabash project, funded by the Creative Convergence Program through the Indiana Arts Commission, will revitalize the city, Terre Haute.

Momentum continues to build for Turn to the River!

We are excited to see this transformational project continue taking shape as we prepare to break ground later this year on the new Event Space. From the upcoming move of the Terre Haute Farmers Market to the Riverside Commons greenspace to future plans connecting downtown Terre Haute to the Wabash River through public art, trails, and placemaking, Turn to the River represents a bold investment in our community’s future. What began during the 2013 Year of the River continues to grow into a shared community vision centered on riverfront development with thoughtful placemaking and public art. We cannot wait to share more as this exciting next chapter unfolds!

The active, eventful future planned for the government campus north of the Vigo County Courthouse and Terre Haute City Hall will continue taking shape this summer, fall and winter.

We will be there in the children's area where kids of all ages can help decorate a model of our Composite House sculpture. Activities, performances, food and the diverse artist market make this a not to miss event!

The past few days have been filled with energy, connection, and meaningful moments that reflect the strength of our community as we celebrated the grand reopening of Herz-Rose park and dedicated "Reaching for Ryves" by artist Greg Mueller.

We kicked things off on Thursday with a vibrant and well-attended Art Chatter featuring “Reaching for Ryves” artist Greg Mueller. Greg offered an insightful, behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration and intention behind his work, sharing how he translated community pride and identity into a powerful visual experience.

On Friday, the momentum continued with the Grand Reopening of Herz-Rose Park, a joyful celebration of a beautifully reimagined space made possible through the dedication of numerous community partners. Students from Benjamin Franklin Elementary added to the excitement, bringing curiosity and enthusiasm to the morning’s festivities.

That evening, the celebration carried on with a lively Herz-Rose Block Party, where hundreds of families and neighbors gathered to connect, create, and enjoy the park together. From decorating flower pots to simply spending time side by side, the evening reflected community spirit in action.

Moments like these remind us that public art and thoughtfully designed spaces do more than beautify. They bring people together, spark conversation, and create a shared sense of place. Public art tells our stories, honors our collective identity, and invites everyone to participate in shaping the character of our community. It is a lasting investment in connection, pride, and belonging, and it helps define not just how our community looks, but how it feels and who we are together.

Thank you to all who made this project successful!
