Vigo County CASA Voice of the neglect and abused children of the Wabash Valley while traveling through juvenile court proceedings.

CASA is an acronnym for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA's are specially trained community volunteers that are appointed by a judge to serve children entering the welfare system due to neglect and/or abuse by their caregivers. CASA volunteers are the voice of the child, speaking for the best interest of that child throughout the entirety of the juvenile court proceedings. A CASA Volunteer is an ordinary person at least 21 years of age, able to deal with complex emotional situations, able to avoid over-involvement with the child and is interested in the child's well-being FIRST!
