Indiana bats live in almost every state in the eastern half of the country, but about a third of all Indiana bats hibernate in caves in Indiana. About 95% of these bats hibernate in only 4 of Indiana’s caves. This is one reason it’s so important to protect these caves from disturbance!
You can support efforts to conserve and monitor these bats by donating to the Indiana Nongame Wildlife Fund at on.IN.gov/nongamewildlifefund.
