Congratulations to Vigo County Central Dispatch on the ribbon cutting of the new 9-1-1 Backup Center. This investment strengthens public safety and helps ensure reliable emergency services for our community.

Today, the Vigo County Commissioners joined Vigo County Central Dispatch leadership to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Vigo County 9-1-1 Backup Center at the Vigo County Annex.

This important investment strengthens our emergency communications system and helps ensure uninterrupted service for residents when it matters most. As the communications hub for all police, fire, and EMS agencies across Vigo County, Central Dispatch handles more than 100,000 calls for service each year.

The new backup center enhances reliability, preparedness, and coordination, helping keep our community safe today and into the future.

Our interns put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test during an amazing race around Downtown Terre Haute, the second event of the 2026 Internship Experience Program! Participants explored Terre Haute's history, discovered local landmarks and connected with fellow interns while experiencing all that our community has to offer.

This week, members of our Membership and Marketing teams traveled up to Michigan City to attend the 2026 Indiana Chamber Executives Association Annual Conference. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from industry peers, share best practices and strengthen connections with chamber colleagues from across Indiana.

Today, we kicked off the 2026 Internship Experience Program with our community reception. Interns had the chance to meet one another, connect with community leaders and share their thoughts on the future of Terre Haute through conversations centered around the See You in Terre Haute Community Plan.

Interns also heard from Erika Petrelli Bayh, Founder of The Extraordinary In You. She shared tips on magnetic communication and mindful listening. Erika encouraged interns to be present this summer, get to know one another and be open to getting feedback to improve.

A panel of Talent Network of West Central Indiana alumni, specially the Leadership Academy of West Central Indiana, shared why they chose to live and work in West Central Indiana and advice they would give to interns trying to decide where to live and work after graduation.
