The last Brother of the Month for the fall semester is Kayla Dye! Kayla is a Senior double Major in Accounting and Finance with a concentration in analysis and investment management and a Minor in Business Analytics. She is fromPinckney, Michigan. A fun fact about her is that she can speak Spanish and conversational German. She has served as our Special Events Coordinator, and was elected to be our new VP of Membership! When asked what she loves about AKPsi, she said, “I love the connections I’ve made with alumni at PBLI and convention as well as the friends I’ve made along the way. I’ve learned so much about myself and about my professional journey and it is all thanks to my brothers!”

Congratulations to Samantha Lewis for being named Brother of the month of October! Sam is a senior Majoring in Accounting with a Minor in Sports Management. She is originally from Terre Haute, Indiana. A fun fact about her is that she has goal is to go to all 30 MLB stadiums, and has currently been to 10 so far. During her time as a current member, she has held numerous positions within the chapter. She served as our Events Chair, VP of Fundraising, and finally VP of Administration. When asked what she loves about AKPsi, she said, “I love how much AKPsi has helped me grow both professionally and personally. AKPsi has helped me step out of my comfort zone and has helped me become a much more confident person through the experiences and opportunities it has offered me. I also love the brotherhood and connections AKPsi has provided me.”

Sam has not only been a great leader in the Mu Omicron chapter, but outside it as well! She is also serving as the Director of Finance for Indiana State’s Student Government Association.

For the month of October, the focus of our alumni spotlight is Austin Angel! Austin is a Financial Planning Analyst at Market Street Wealth Management. During his time in the Mu Omicron chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, he served as the the Vice President of Administration. When we asked how did AKPsi benefit him after graduation he said, “Alpha Kappa Psi taught me to have the confidence to push for change. Just because something has been done the same way for years, doesn’t mean a better process can’t be developed.”

Congratulations to Kamille for being named the brother of the month for September! Kamille is a junior with a Major in Marketing and us from Mt. Zion, Illinois. During her time in the Mu Omicron chapter, she currently serves as our VP of Fundraising and also served as our brotherhood chair as well. A fun fact about her is that she has been to over 10 countries, wow! When asked what she loves about AKPsi, she replied, “I love the people, the leadership opportunities, and the professional development!”

For the month of September, the first alumni spotlight of the school year will be on of our recent graduates, Dakota Wilson! Dakota just graduated from basic training and is on starting on his AIT to become a Fire Control Specialist. He'll be working in the Artillery field.

While as a member of Alpha Kappa Psi he served as our Professional Chair and performed the duties as our warden.

When asked what AKPsi teach him that benefit him after college; he replied, "Alpha Kappa Psi has taught me to more of a harder worker and to always have a positive attitude."

Here at Alpha Kappa Psi, we build the foundation for our future leaders. We will never tear them down.

To start off the new semester, we have to give a shoutout to two brothers; congratulations to Tyra Dowell and Jordyn Shaw for being named our brothers of the summer!

To start, we have Tyra. Over the summer she studied abroad for 11 weeks in Costa Rica. She traveled to many different parts of the country and also visited Panama during her time! She is a junior from Cahokia, Illinois. She is an Accounting Major with two minors in forensic accounting and Spanish. A fun fact about her is that she played softball for 12 years. During her time as a member she has served as our Pledge Educator, Events Chair, and currently is our Warden! When asked what she loves about AKPsi, she said, “AKPsi helps me build close relationships that will not only last but help me succeed in the future.”

Lastly, we have Jordyn Shaw. Over the summer, she studied abroad in Scotland! Jordyn is a junior from St. Joseph, Illinois, and at Indiana State is an Accounting Major with a minor in Spanish. A fun fact about her is that she can play the clarinet. During her time in Alpha Kappa Psi, she was also our service chair. When asked what she loves about AKPsi, she said, “The friends I’ve made in AKPsi.”
