Arrows Christian Academy - AZ ARROWS is a private K-8 classical Christian school for Phoenix's East Valley families. Our unique approach gives students an opportunity to do just that.

Goodness. The word encompasses so much, yet seems so simple.

Contrary to what most of us think, great is not better than good. It’s just different.

So what makes goodness so, well, good? Goodness is tranquil. Goodness is righteous. Goodness is confident. Goodness is peaceful. When something or someone is good, it’s enough, and then some.

Yes, God is great. This is the essence of why we worship Him. But he is also good. He satisfies our souls even in the quiet moments. He provides peace in the worst of turmoil. He loves us even at our worst.

When God created the light, He saw that it was good. When He looked out over His Creation, He saw that it was very good.

Where does goodness fit in your life? Where do you see God’s goodness appear? Try paying attention to what is good in your life. You’re likely to find peace, tranquility and more.

And that’s more than enough. It’s the goodness that comes from God alone!

Peace is not simply the absence of war or conflict. It’s not being in a place without noise, problems or hard work. It’s more than that, and simpler at the same time.

Peace is being in the middle of all of life’s challenges and tribulations and still remaining calm at heart. Knowing that all is well and all will be well.

For Christians, this kind of peace is within reach when we remember that Jesus has overcome the world. We are saved by Him and by His sacrifice for us.

By accepting Him as Lord and Savior, we have given ourselves the peace of knowing that no matter how noisy or hard life gets here on earth, the ultimate and eternal peace awaits us with God in Heaven.

That, my friends, is the ultimate “zen state!”

What does it mean to submit yourself to God?

Submission to God means coming to Him knowing He sees all of your sins, all your guilt, all your shame, all your failures and all of your insufficiencies.

It also means accepting that you have talents, gifts and positive traits that may have been hiding behind your own perception of the “other” stuff you brought to Him.

The submission comes in giving in to the idea that you may have gifts He intends for you to use that you’re not even aware of. It’s realizing that a negative character trait can be turned into a blessing because God decided so.

It means giving your body, mind, heart and soul to Him for His use. And it might be the hardest thing you’ll ever do. Every fiber of your ego will scream “no!”

But if you do it, and really allow Him to work in you, God will exalt you! He will lift you out of all the wreckage that you were dragging around all this time.

And THAT is worth the effort - to both you AND God!

Arrows Christian Academy is a classical, Christ-centered K–8 school in Chandler, AZ (Ray Rd/Alma School) and we're looking for a K/1 and 4/5 teacher for 2026–27.

Solitude. Even the word itself sounds peaceful and quiet. Solitude is possibly the most underused tool in the Christian’s prayer arsenal.

Solitude relieves your mind and soul from the distractions of a very busy, very noisy world. Going to a “desolate” place (a place without people, according to Webster’s) can be a force multiplier for prayer.

You can better hear your own thoughts and the vibration of your own soul. You may also hear God better without the chatter of your normal environment. As an added bonus, your physical, mental and spiritual health will all get a boost from regular bouts of solitude!

You may prefer the solitude of a quiet forest or woods. Maybe an empty beach or quiet lake is your preference. Or maybe you have a quiet prayer room right at home.

Whatever you prefer, use it and amplify your prayer power!
