It is is with heartfelt gratitude that I am honored to pass the baton of leadership of the Islamic Social Services Association-USA (ISSA-USA) to its next president, Shaema Samia Imam !
Shaema lives in
Atlanta, Georgia
and has her MSW from the University of Denver with a concentration in Mental Health and Trauma. She has worked in the fields of homecare (Canada), community development (Bahrain and Dubai), and community mental health and recovery from substance abuse (Atlanta). She is registered as an LMSW in the State of Georgia and is currently working as a su***de prevention specialist. She has previously worked with the Islamic Family and Social Services Association in Edmonton as a youth development and parenting education coordinator and has been involved with ISSA since 2002.
The future is bright and I am confident that Shaema and the 2026 Board of Directors will lead ISSA-USA with integrity, servant leadership and commitment as they continue to build a network of providers that educate and advocate for spiritually sensitive mental health, family and social services.
