🇮🇹 HELP US FIND A HOST FAMILY FOR AURORA FROM ITALY! 🇺🇸

OCEAN is looking for a wonderful volunteer host family to welcome Aurora, a 17-year-old exchange student from Italy, for the Spring 2027 semester (January–June)!

Aurora is an active, curious, and motivated young lady who has dreamed of attending an American high school since she was little. Now, we're hoping to find a family who can help make that dream a reality!

🌸 Get to know Aurora!

🥊 Kickboxing & Gymnastics: She loves staying active, challenging herself, and trying new things.

🤿 Scuba Diving: She enjoys exploring underwater environments and discovering marine life.

🎹 Music: She's taught herself to play both the piano and guitar!

🍰 Baking: She enjoys spending time in the kitchen and would love to share some Italian culture and traditions.

🥾 Nature & Adventure: She enjoys hiking, exploring new places, and learning about local history.

🚀 Future Goals: Aurora is a dedicated student who dreams of becoming an aerospace engineer!

Her teachers describe her as mature, responsible, respectful, open-minded, and highly motivated. She also has excellent English proficiency!

❤️ What is Aurora hoping to find?

More than anything, Aurora wants to experience everyday American family life. She's excited about attending an American high school, making new friends, participating in family activities, and sharing her Italian culture with the people who welcome her.

She would especially enjoy a family with host siblings. A cat-free home is needed due to allergies.

🏡 What does it take to host?

You don't need a big house, an elaborate vacation schedule, or a picture-perfect family!

Our volunteer host families provide a welcoming home, meals, and the opportunity for a student to become part of their everyday lives. OCEAN provides guidance and support throughout the exchange experience.

Sometimes the most meaningful memories come from the simplest moments—family dinners, school events, holiday traditions, and everyday conversations.

A new month brings new adventures, beautiful fall colors, and unforgettable memories!

For our exchange students, October is a wonderful time to experience American traditions—from pumpkin patches and corn mazes to football games, Halloween festivities, and everything that makes fall so special! 🍎🏈🎃

We hope our students, host families, and Area Representatives enjoy a month filled with laughter, friendship, and cultural experiences.

🌎 WE DID IT — 100% PLACED! 🇺🇸

We are so excited to announce that every one of our OCEAN students for the 2026–2027 program year has been placed with a host family! 🎉

And we simply could not do this without YOU.

To every person who shared a post, made a phone call, mentioned hosting to a friend, connected us with a school, referred a family, opened your own home, became an Area Representative, or helped us spread the word — THANK YOU.

To our incredible host families who volunteer to open not only their homes, but their lives to a student from another country — you are the heart of this program.

To our Area Representatives, schools, community members, sending partners, former host families, and everyone who kept sharing when we said, “We still need one more family!” — you made a difference.

Nandine is still waiting for her host family! 🇲🇳🇺🇸

Unfortunately, Nandine's planned host family recently fell through, and we are once again searching for a family willing to open their home to this wonderful 16-year-old exchange student from Mongolia.

Nandine enjoys volleyball, wants to try tennis, is learning the ukulele, and loves English, social studies, and literature. Most of all, she is excited to experience American high school life and become part of an American family.

With the school year beginning, time is becoming incredibly important. Her friends are preparing to begin their exchange experiences, and Nandine is still waiting for someone to say YES.

Host families are volunteers and provide a bed, meals, and a welcoming home. OCEAN provides support throughout the exchange.
