Fall has arrived, and our academy students are gearing up for gardening season! Upper school students are paired up with lower school students as garden buddies to prep, plant, and care for the school garden. They bought all the materials needed to plant, and we can’t wait to share more when they return from fall break next week. Stay tuned! 🌱

Our team began the week with Cupcake Wars! Staff members brought in a dozen cupcakes to be judged based on taste, presentation, and creativity. Entries were anonymous, and staff members tasted each one before casting their vote. Congratulations to our winners!

The beauty of our Academy is that each child receives individualized instruction to meet their own specific IEP goals. 🤩 This student is working through a variety of math concepts. In this work group, he is practicing identifying what time it will be after a certain amount of time passes. Using an analog clock, he is counting the time on the clock to find his answers. Way to go! 💛

Our Preschool classroom has been incorporating process art into lessons, allowing students to explore materials freely. Yesterday, at the art center, every child added their own unique design to a canvas using paint sticks. The result was stunning. Beautiful things happen when we work together!

A special thank you to a family in our community who donated endless art supplies for this class. They have truly been enjoying them. 💛

At Story, we provide a setting where every child’s unique strengths and interests are encouraged. This student enjoys drawing and created this masterpiece between academic work groups last week. 🎨 We love seeing our learners light up and focus on their preferred interests and activities! 🤩

Story Autism Center operates three distinct programs under one roof:

💛 A K-12 Academy serving autistic children ages 6 to 22
💛 An Early Intervention Clinic serving children newly diagnosed up to age 6
💛 An Onsite Childcare with an Inclusive Preschool serving children up to age 5

Every program works toward one shared mission: to love and lead learners to happy and fulfilling lives. 🫶

Story’s Inclusive Preschool provides a high-quality learning environment rich with exploration, socialization, and growth for each child in the classroom, regardless of ability. 🫶 This classroom serves children from our early intervention clinic, children of staff, and is open to all in the community. Our goal is to assist children in becoming lifelong learners and provide opportunities to develop in all areas, including:

⭐️ cognitive and language development
