🎉🏕️ What an incredible year for Scouting With 692! 🏕️🎉

Last month at the Rainier District Awards Banquet, our Scouting family had a lot to celebrate! We are proud to share that Troop 692 was named Troop of the Year — a huge honor that reflects the leadership, teamwork, and dedication of our Scouts and volunteers.

And the awards didn’t stop there!

⭐ Jason Peters, Eagle Scout and former Senior Patrol Leader, was named Senior Patrol Leader of the Year for Rainier District.

⚡ Michelle Brownell, Pack 692 Committee Member and Activities Chair, received the Spark Plug Award for her incredible commitment to our Cub Scouts. Michelle works tirelessly to help create fun, engaging, and high-quality scouting experiences for every Cub Scout in Pack 692, organizing activities and events that bring energy, adventure, and community to the program.

🐺 Kayla Varga, Pack 692 Wolf Den Leader, was recognized as Rainier District Den Leader of the Year. Kayla’s dedication to providing a fun, engaging, and high-quality scouting experience for every Scout in her Den has made a lasting impact on our young Cubs and their families.

🌉 Justin Lewis, Troop 692 Committee Chair, received the Bridge Builder Award from the Olympic District. Justin was recognized not only for all of his hard work supporting Scouts in the Rainier District, but also for his contributions across the Olympic District as well. The Bridge Builder Award honors individuals who help connect units, programs, and events — and in Justin’s case, even build bridges between Scouting districts to strengthen the Scouting program for everyone in the Pacific Harbors Council.

🧭 Clark Whitehead, Pack 692 Committee Chair, earned Pack Committee Chair of the Year for Rainier District.

On top of these amazing honors, Pack 692 and Troop 692 had several other nominations, highlighting the strength and spirit of our entire Scouting community.

We’re also proud that our Charter Organization, the Swiss Sportsmen’s Club of Tacoma, was recognized by the Rainier District for their continued support of Scouting.

👏 These awards represent hundreds of hours of volunteer service, youth leadership, outdoor adventure, and a commitment to helping young people grow into capable leaders.

Congratulations to everyone in Scouting With 692 — Scouts, leaders, families, and supporters. The future is bright, and the adventure continues! 🌲🔥⚜️

🏈 From this lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan (Clark D. Whitehead III) to all our Seattle Seahawks fans… CONGRATS on the big win over LA and punching your ticket to Super Bowl LX vs. the Patriots! 💚💙 Playing for the championship in your rivals’ stadium after knocking them out of the Playoff’s? That’s cold… and kinda amazing.

And guess what? Super Bowl Sunday = Scout Sunday this year!
📅 Sunday, Feb 8, 2026

Before kickoff, join us at Camp Curran at 11:00 AM for a Scout’s Own Service led by our very own Star Scout, Wyatt Abrahamson and his team. Theme: “A Scout is Loyal.” Perfect, right? Loyalty in Scouting… and loyalty to your team (even of your team hasn’t had a Superbowl appearance in 30 years 😅).

Afterward join us for Pizza Potluck Luncheon 🍕 (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D48A5A628A5F9CE9-61647750-troop #/)

That leaves plenty y’all of time to head home, grab the snacks, and get ready for kickoff at 3:30 PM!

Come for the service. Stay for the pizza. Leave to cheer the Seahawks to VICTORY! 🙌

Let’s celebrate Scouting, faith, family… and football. 🏈✨

Today, as we pause to remember the events of 9/11, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the countless acts of courage and kindness that followed.

In the days after, our nation stood together — neighbors helped neighbors, strangers became friends, and unity gave us strength. That same spirit of service and brotherhood is at the heart of Scouting.

As Scouts, let’s carry that spirit forward: be kind, be helpful, and stand united in making our world a better place. Even the smallest good turn can spark hope.

Let us remember, and let us continue to serve

☕❤️ Love Coffee? Want to Support Local Youth?

Troop 692 has a group of incredible Scouts heading to the 2026 National Jamboree — a once-in-a-lifetime leadership and adventure experience held in West Virginia with tens of thousands of youth from across the country.

To help them get there, their contingent is running a delicious Giving Bean Coffee & Tea Fundraiser! This is your chance to stock up on high-quality coffee, teas, and snacks — all while directly supporting youth in our community as they work hard to fund their way to this life-changing event.

🛒 Here’s how to help: https://www.givingbean.com/store/home.php?partner=2a7e6

✅ Just enter the name of the Scout you’re supporting in the “Person Attributed” box at checkout. 👉 But don’t worry, if no name is used it will still go the contingents general fund and support our Scouts.

💸 25% of every purchase goes directly to their trip fund.

📅 This fundraiser runs all the way through Jamboree, so feel free to reorder throughout the year!

Every bag of beans helps a Scout get one step closer to the adventure of a lifetime. Thank you for supporting Scouting.

Fuel adventure. Drink coffee. Repeat.

⚜️ Troop 692 Life Scout Ava Whitehead Completes 2nd Year as CIT at Camp Parsons! ⚜️

This summer, Life Scout Ava Whitehead proudly represented Troop 692 for her second year as a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) at Camp Parsons! 👏

The CIT program is a leadership development experience for Scouts aged 14–15, designed to prepare future summer camp staff by building skills in leadership, teaching, and camp operations. Over the week, Ava worked alongside seasoned staff, supported camp programs, and continued growing as a Scout leader.

Joining Ava was Scouts BSA Troop 841, Federal Way Star Scout Evelyn, completing her first year in the CIT program. Fun fact: Ava and the rest of Troop 692G were honored to attend Troop 841’s very first Court of Honor in 2023 — a special connection that made this shared CIT experience even more meaningful.

Way to go, Ava and Evelyn! Keep leading the way! 💛💙

🎉 Congratulations to Life Scout Hunter Moore! 🎉
Hunter has officially completed his Eagle Scout Project, and we couldn’t be more proud!

His project focused on safety, community, and giving back—values that define what it means to be a Scout. Hunter designed and built a sturdy fence to create a safe, enclosed play area for children at the Swiss Sportsman Club of Tacoma—the very organization that proudly charters Troop 692 and has given so much to our Scouting family.

👏 Thank you, Hunter, for your leadership, hard work, and commitment to service. This project will benefit families for years to come!
