Our Family Resource Center (FRC) and teen drop-in center will be temporarily closed on our Tacoma campus Aug. 14 – Nov. 13 for our remodel. We’ll open in our temporary space at Gates High School, 4608 128th St E, Tacoma next month.
We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to our bright, newly remodeled space that will give us more room, fun new zones for youth participating in our Youth Development programs, including an art studio, and community rooms for families to gather. Youth and families in Pierce County are so lucky to have Amara providing thoughtful, trauma-informed child welfare services. We rely on Amara to build communities that are safe, welcoming and connected. I was so excited to participate in the groundbreaking for their new Family Resource Center, which will offer therapeutic new spaces for healing and community connection. After sharing some remarks about why this project matters, I had the privilege of touring the future project site to see firsthand what Amara leadership is dreaming up. I cannot wait to see how this improves the already incredible services they offer. Congratulations to Amara and thank you to all the partners who are making their vision a reality!
