Law Enforcement Education Achievement and Prevention (LEEAP)

Law Enforcement Education Achievement and Prevention (LEEAP) LEEAP is a mentorship program for at risk teens formed by the Pierce County Sheriff's Dept. The mentors monitor the kids behavior and grades.

In return, the mentors do fun activities with the kids. We also do group events at least once a month.

All good things come to an end. Sadly, it's that time for LEEAP. I've really enjoyed the last few years. The kids and mentors are amazing. I really enjoyed our luncheon today. Stay in touch and endeavor to persevere.~Bruce

It's been awhile! We're taking the kids for our version of a "mini-academy" for the next 3 days.
Tues-8:30 at Sprinker Rec (Pierce Co Range then Northwest Trek)
Wed-9am Krispy Kreme at Tacoma Mall (History Museum, then courhouse and forensics lab)
Thurs-8:30am at Krispy Kreme (Puyallup Jail then up to Mt Rainier)

LEEAP is representing well at the Prevention Summit in Yakima. Zach got to shake hands and meet Rob McKenna, the Attorney General for Washington. Marissa helped out at an elementary school here in Yakima, and Zach loaded up a zillion pounds of food at the local food bank distributor. Volunteering rocks!

Wow! What a weekend. The Great Wolf Lodge delivered on everything they promised. Overnight activities are always a challenge. Thanks to the kids for getting along and the mentors for donating their time. We have a great bunch of people!
