Washington State PTA

Washington State PTA Founded in 1905, WSPTA is the largest volunteer organization in the state, with over 80,000 members.

Washington State PTA was founded in 1905 by Abby Williams Hill of Tacoma, an artist who saw the need for an organization to support Washington's children. Thanks to her leadership and vision—and that of thousands of parents and teachers who have carried her vision forward—Washington State PTA has been a leading voice for children in Washington for over 115 years.

Plot twist: PTA isn’t just for parents!

Students can join PTA too, and honestly, who better to have a voice in what students need than… students!

Got opinions? Join PTA.
Got ideas? Join PTA.
Want your voice heard? Join PTA.
Want to help make school better? JOIN PTA!

Student membership is a great way to get students involved, build leadership skills, and make sure their voices are part of the conversation.

Because “Every Child. One Voice.” means we actually want to hear those voices!

PTA PSA: If you haven't updated your officers now is the time!

Before you get too deep into the school year, take a minute to make sure your current officers are updated in Givebacks. This needs to be done yearly, even if everyone is staying in their positions for the year.

And here’s the important part: please use the “Update Officers” tab, not the Admin tab. Admin should also be updated, but that spot does not tell us who your officers are or include them in communications.

Keeping this information current helps make sure the right people are connected to your PTA and that important WSPTA communications get where they need to go. https://support.givebacks.com/en/articles/11185130-how-do-i-add-officers
