📚 Latino Club is in full effect at Lincoln High School! 💙

Student clubs create important opportunities for connection, leadership, cultural identity, and learning beyond the classroom.

To kick off the year, Latino Club welcomed Mi Centro, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting the Latino community. Students learned about the organization’s services and, importantly, how they can access resources and support when they need it.

Connecting students to trusted community resources is part of how CIS Tacoma helps students navigate challenges and stay focused on their goals.

When students know where to turn, they’re better equipped to succeed.

Today, we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day. 🧡

At Communities In Schools of Tacoma, we believe every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and connected to their community. Today, we honor Indigenous peoples, their rich cultures, histories, traditions, and ongoing contributions while recognizing the importance of learning from the past and uplifting Indigenous voices.

Education plays an important role in building understanding, fostering belonging, and creating a future where every student feels respected and supported.

As we continue our work to surround students with a community of support, we remain committed to building relationships, honoring each student’s identity, and creating spaces where every young person can thrive.

Being Present Matters. Every student. Every story. Every day.

⛳ THANK YOU, TACOMA SOUTH ROTARY! 🏴‍☠️

We are beyond grateful to Rotary Club of Tacoma South, Harkness Furniture, and the more than 200 guests who joined us for the 30th Annual Mini-Golf Tournament! What an incredible evening of community, connection, and support for Tacoma students!

We couldn’t be more honored to be this year’s Raise the Paddle recipient! Thanks to this amazing community, our students will have the opportunity to help redesign our CIST HUB spaces into welcoming, comfortable environments where they feel safe, supported, and a true sense of belonging.

Because Being Present Matters, and so does creating spaces where students know they matter. When students feel welcome and connected, they have a stronger foundation to learn, grow, and succeed.

Thank you for investing in our students and helping us surround them with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. We couldn’t do this without you! 💙

Being present matters. 💙

At CIS Tacoma, our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. That support means showing up—not just once, but consistently, year after year.

Eliana has been a trusted source of support for Armonni and Tyliyah since they were in 6th grade. Now sophomores, they continue to check in with her regularly and receive the academic support they need to stay on track.

It’s more than academic support—it’s a trusted relationship that grows with students over time. We’re proud to be part of their journey and can’t wait to celebrate with them when graduation day arrives! 🎓

🧡 Every Child Matters.

Today, CIST recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation/Every Child Matters Day by honoring the children who were lost and remembering the importance of creating schools where every student feels safe, valued, and they belong.

Education is about more than academics — it’s about relationships, belonging, and making sure every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive.

Today, take a moment to listen, learn, and help create a community where every student matters. 🧡
