742 books and countless possibilities! 📚✨

A huge THANK YOU to Tacoma Public Utilities for donating 742 books through their annual book drive! Because of their generosity, more students will have access to stories that inspire imagination, strengthen literacy, and build a lifelong love of reading.

Getting books into the hands of students matters—and partners like TPU help make that possible. Thank you for investing in Tacoma’s future, one book at a time! ❤️

To end AAPI month, our incredible CIS advisors at Mount Tahoma High School brought the spirit of the Pacific to life once again, creating another unforgettable luau with their students. Events like these remind us that culture is a powerful bridge, connecting students to their roots, their community, and each other. When young people are given the space to celebrate who they are, they show up with pride, joy, and a sense of belonging that carries them far beyond the classroom.

We are so grateful for the advisors who go above and beyond to make moments like these possible. This is what CIS is all about! đź’›

Last week marked the final stretch of preparation, and as of today, June 8th, graduation day has arrived for Oakland seniors. Last week, Oakland seniors stepped onto campus one last time to enjoy a hearty breakfast together before jumping right into graduation rehearsal. The excitement was building, the anticipation to hold their diploma is within reach. Today, these Oakland Eagles will soon take flight. 🦅💚🖤

Meet Adrian “AJ” Jackson-Muhamad, a senior at Mount Tahoma High School and a second-year student with CIS Tacoma. AJ is currently Mount Tahoma’s top Pole Vaulter for the track and field team and will be competing at districts this weekend for a chance to advance to the state track meet next week.

Outside of athletics, AJ enjoys drawing and creating art pieces in his free time. After graduation, he plans to attend Northern Arizona University to pursue a degree in nursing and hopes to continue his athletic career by walking on to their track and field team.

We are proud to celebrate AJ and all of his hard work, talent, and dedication. Good luck this weekend, AJ!
