The Mission offers holistic services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the South Sound, empowering each client to not only survive, but to overcome obstacles and thrive long-term. Our solution-based approach offers practical resources including meals, shelter, education, mental health counseling, addiction recovery, job training, youth services, low-income housing and more.

Campuses include a men’s shelter, women’s shelter, family shelter, veterans’ shelter and low-income apartments

We need your help!

Please consider donating bottled water to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. As the weather gets warmer, it gets harder to meet the water needs in the community. Please consider donating and share this message.

God Bless this House!

As progress continues on our Downtown Campus Expansion project, we had the opportunity to bless the foundation of the building that will serve our men's new life recovery program. 💙 We wrote prayers, bible verses, and words of affirmation, so that this building will always serve as a blessing to those who need it.

We will be doing this same thing next week for the building that will become our new men's shelter and we would love to get you involved. Please write your favorite bible verses, quotes, prayers, or kind words in the comments below, and we will transfer those beautiful messages into the foundation of our new shelter!

Housing Opportunity! We are ONLY accepting applications for 5-6 person households that meet the criteria below.

The Tacoma Rescue Mission's Tyler Family Housing is now accepting applications. Tyler Family Housing offers clean and sober, subsidized housing for families committed to recovery and building a better future.

We currently have 3-bedroom units available for households of 5–6 members.

📌 Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Low-income households at or below 30% Area Median Income (AMI):
Household of 5: $41,300 or less
Household of 6: $44,350 or less

Must have at least one child under the age of 18.
At least one adult in the family must be in recovery from a drug and/or alcohol use disorder.
Willing to attend a weekly recovery support group (e.g. AA, NA, Celebrate Recovery).
One year of sobriety preferred (negotiable).

The Head of Household must meet HUD’s definition of homelessness (e.g. living on the streets, in a vehicle, emergency shelter, or place not meant for habitation).

No outstanding debt to:
Tacoma Public Utilities
Puget Sound Energy
Any Housing Authority
Able to open accounts with Tacoma Public Utilities & Puget Sound Energy.

Head of Household must be willing to work with a Stability Specialist and motivated toward self-sufficiency.

You heard him right! ALL cottages at GNV will come fully furnished with appliances. We want to give our residents a warm welcome in a home they can call their own.

The Good Neighbor Village is rooted in community. This means we welcome each person to a dignified environment where they are set up for success.
