Save the Date for Rebuilding Hope’s 6th Annual Spring Soiree on Friday, April 16, 2027!

Join us for an elegant cocktail-hour celebration of hope, honoring Sexual Assault Awareness Month. With stunning views of the Puget Sound, exciting raffle and live auction items, delicious food and drink, and impactful moments honoring our collective commitment to ending sexual violence, the Spring Soiree will raise vital funds to ensure hope and healing are within reach for every victim-survivor in Pierce and Kitsap counties. October is Domestic Violence Action Month—a reminder that everyone can play a part in stopping domestic violence and creating safer communities. Sexual assault and domestic violence are connected forms of harm, both driven by abuse of power and control. Victim-survivors deserve to be heard, believed, and supported—and everyone deserves safety, respect, and choice in their relationships and sexual lives.

In late September, our team attended the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault’s annual conference in Yakima, where we joined advocates from across the state for learning, connection, and community in advocating for victim-survivors. In the first picture is our team at the conference for a moment of fun between presentations and networking.

This month, we have joined our partners as local governments recognize DVAM with official proclamations. In the second picture are members of our team alongside other partners at the City of Lakewood and Pierce County Council. Follow our partners listed below to stay tuned for more DVAM proclamations!

In honor of Indigenous People’s Day, we offer a humble acknowledgment to the original tribes whose lands were stolen from them that we have the privilege to reside and work on today, as well as the duty to preserve and to protect. Rebuilding Hope’s offices in Tacoma and Bremerton rest on lands originally belonging to the Puyallup (spuyaləpabš) and Suquamish (D'Suq'Wub) Tribes, respectively, and we work to serve community members across the Pierce and Kitsap County region that, for thousands of years, had been the original territory and home of the Puyallup (spuyaləpabš), Nisqually (dxʷsqʷaliʔabš), Squaxin Island (sqʷax̌sədabš), Muckleshoot (bəqəlšuɬ), Suquamish (D'Suq'Wub) and S’Klallam (Nux Sklai Yem) people.

If Rebuilding Hope upholds our mission to facilitate support and healing for victims of a physical violation, we must atone for the collective violation of the native people and lands which we endeavor to mutually share and protect with the descendants of those tribes.

Rebuilding Hope also acknowledges the disproportionate impact of sexual violence against indigenous communities. According to the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center, 56% of American Indian and Alaska Native women have experienced sexual violence. Indigenous victim-survivors are often erased, neglected, or harmed by mainstream systems and media, leading to the development of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People (MMIWP) movement. Rebuilding Hope is proud to raise visibility for this urgent issue, stand in solidarity with our tribal communities, and partner to support indigenous victim-survivors and change the culture that allows this violence to continue.

Last week, members of our team attended the Seattle concert to see board member (performing under the moniker ) take the stage for the second year in a row for Rebuilding Hope – and your support gave him the top spot!

Before Ian’s performance, Executive Director Carlyn Sampson shared about how Rebuilding Hope stands with survivors and works tirelessly to change the culture of sexual violence. Through all of your generosity and the power of music, Ian more than doubled last year’s record and raised nearly $13,500 for victim-survivors, making him the competition’s overall winner. 🏆

Huge thanks to Ian, Law Rocks, and everyone who donated to support our mission. We were honored to be Ian’s non-profit of choice to compete in this one of a kind event and partner to end sexual violence.

We believe in providing support and services that are accessible to all, including advocacy, therapy, and education for survivors of sexual assault and abuse.

We provide mental health treatment with licensed therapists who specialize in working with survivors, offering services in both English and Spanish. We accept most private insurances, Crime Victims Compensation (CVC), and offer a low cost sliding scale fees to ensure cost is not a barrier to your healing. Our approach is grounded in treating all clients with dignity, respect, and compassion.
