Tacoma Cooperative Network

Tacoma Cooperative Network TCN Cooperative Network (TCN) connects communities to reliable internet, workforce training, and tools needed to participate in today’s economy.

Help us train 1000 people in Cybersecurity and AI: https://givebutter.com/c/lets-launch-seattles-next-cyberai Founded in 2019 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tacoma Cooperative Network launched its first pilot project in southern Hilltop, working alongside residents to expand connectivity and support digital inclusion. As our work grew, so did our vision. What began as a Tacoma-focused initiative has ev

olved into a broader effort to build workforce and community capacity around democratic access to internet infrastructure. This expansion coincides with our transition to operating as TCN Cooperative Network — reflecting both our roots and our growing regional scope. Today, TCN Cooperative Network continues to strengthen communities by combining reliable infrastructure, workforce development, and collaborative economic participation. While Tacoma remains foundational to our story, our model is designed to grow wherever communities are ready to build capacity together.

The future won't wait. Neither should we.

Every year, new opportunities in technology, cybersecurity, and AI open up for young people. The challenge isn't just finding them. It's knowing where to start.

If you're a parent, grandparent, guardian, or someone helping raise a young person, we'd love to invite you to our FutureReady Families Information Session.

We'll share upcoming programs, answer your questions, and talk about how families can help their students build confidence, explore technology, and prepare for future opportunities.

The hardest part of changing careers usually isn't learning. It's convincing yourself to begin.

If you've been telling yourself, "Maybe next month," "Maybe next year," or "I'll wait until I know more," you're not alone.

But waiting won't build experience. Starting will.

Join us for our next CyberAI Boot Camp and take the first step toward cybersecurity, AI, apprenticeships, and industry certifications.

A year from now, you'll wish you had started today. Not because three days will change your life overnight, but because you'll finally know what your next step could be.

Every week we meet people who want to get into cybersecurity or AI. They don't lack motivation.

They just haven't taken the first step.

Our CyberAI Boot Camp is designed to help you stop wondering and start building.

August 12-14
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Now offering a 6-month payment plan to make it easier to get started.

You don't have to have it all figured out.

You don't need a computer science degree.

You don't need years of experience.

You don't even need to know if cybersecurity or AI is the right fit for you yet.

What you do need is a place to start.

Our free CyberAI Information Sessions are for people who are curious, exploring a career change, or simply wondering what's possible. We'll walk through the CyberAI pathway, answer your questions, and explain how training, apprenticeships, certifications, and employer connections fit together.

The only thing you might regret is waiting another six months to ask the questions you're already thinking about today.

Join us virtually:

A lot of fundraising events ask people to support a cause.
FutureMakers is a little different.

We're inviting people to help build something.

Over the next 24 months, TCN aims to help train 1,000 CyberAI professionals who can help protect digital systems, strengthen AI safety, and support the future workforce our communities need.

That's a big goal.

It will take educators.
Employers.
Community leaders.
Families.
Funders.
Students.

And people who simply believe opportunity should be available to more people.
FutureMakers is a celebration of the people helping make that future possible.

One week. So much growth.

Last week, our Future Tech Leaders explored cybersecurity, AI, fiber optics, robotics, engineering, entrepreneurship, and so much more. They learned new technical skills, but they also practiced working as a team, presenting their ideas, solving problems, and believing in themselves.

Watching their confidence grow throughout the week was one of the best parts of camp.

To every student who joined us, thank you for bringing your curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn. And to every parent and guardian, thank you for trusting us with your students. We loved having them and can't wait to see where their journeys take them next.

We hope this wasn't our last adventure together.

If you'd like to stay updated on future camps, workshops, and opportunities for tweens and teens, join FutureReady Families, our parent community. It's the best way to hear about what's coming next and make sure you don't miss future opportunities.

Not every summer memory comes from a vacation.

Sometimes it comes from asking a question, solving a problem, building something new, or discovering you're capable of more than you thought.

These are a few moments from our Future Tech Leaders Summer Camp this week. We loved seeing students so engaged, curious, and excited to learn.

If you want to make sure your family hears about our next camp before it begins, join FutureReady Families, our free parent community.

You'll be the first to know about upcoming camps, workshops, and opportunities for tweens and teens throughout the year.

We've had a lot of parents reach out this week after seeing photos from our Future Tech Leaders Summer Camp.

One pretty common thought is:

"My child would love this... but I think they missed too much already."

We completely understand.

That's actually one of the reasons we created FutureReady Families.

We don't want parents to hear about opportunities after they've already started or after they're full. We want families to know what's coming, have time to plan, ask questions, and decide what's right for their child.

When you join FutureReady Families, you'll be the first to hear about upcoming camps, workshops, showcases, and other opportunities throughout the year. You'll also get updates from our team, hear from other families who've participated in our programs, and learn about ways to keep your child engaged, curious, and building confidence beyond the classroom.

If this week's camp made you think, "I wish we had known sooner," we'd love to have you join us.

Summer is going to fly by.

Will your child remember another week on their phone...

Or the week they learned about AI, cybersecurity, built projects, and discovered something they're excited about?

Here's a look at Day 1 of Future Tech Leaders Summer Camp.

If you've been thinking about signing up, there's still time to join us for the rest of the week.

Before camp starts, we'd love for you to meet some of the instructors who'll be working with our students.

This is Mandee!

She teaches cybersecurity, AI, and graphic design, and believes the best way to learn is by building, experimenting, and trying things for yourself. She loves helping students discover that technology can be creative, fun, and something anyone can learn.

If your student enjoys solving problems, asking questions, or simply trying something new, we think they'll enjoy learning with Mandee.

Future Tech Leaders Summer Camp begins July 6.

Students can join us in Seattle or participate virtually from home.
