Supporting a high quality, enriched education for all Sunnyvale School District students.

Sunnyvale Education Foundation (SEF) raises funds to be used for the benefit of students at all ten of the Sunnyvale School District (SSD) elementary and middle schools. We prioritize support for programs that may not get funding through site, district or school-based parent/teacher group resources alone. Where the district has human-power to get a job done or a program started, SEF looks to support that with funds and in any other way we are able. We also promote communication and sharing of ideas between sites to build on strengths across SSD, and support site volunteerism. Sunnyvale Education Foundation envisions a school district wherein all children thrive as the entire community helps ensure a sustained, enriched, high-quality education for all students. SEF’s outreach and fundraising efforts benefit every K-8 student, foster equity and consistency among school sites, and promote sustained and effective allocation of resources across the district. SEF seeks and promotes representative voices from across the Sunnyvale School District as it works toward this vision.

We are so thankful to the Fairwood Explorer Alliance for allowing us to have a table at their amazing event! So much work went into the planning and shaping of this event, which explored this important topic with compassion and an educational eye. We were grateful to be a small part of it.

“When you fund a classroom project, you aren’t just buying supplies, you are telling a teacher that their vision matters. When you provide grants for music, science, or arts, you aren’t just funding programs, you are making and sparking a life-long passion of a child. You are helping to build the innovators, the creators, and leaders of tomorrow right here in the heart of Silicon Valley.”

These words were spoken by Larry Klein, Sunnyvale Mayor one month ago today as he graciously awarded the Sunnyvale Education Foundation with the Mayor’s Award of Excellence (Group) at the Sunnyvale State of the City, and they truly represent what our work as an organization is striving to achieve in collaboration with our community.

We also are honored to receive a Certificate of Commendation from Santa Clara County courtesy of Supervisor Otto Lee and a Certificate of Recognition from the California Legislature Assembly courtesy of Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens that same day.

We feel grateful for these recognitions, thankful for everyone who has helped make this moment possible, and eager to continue the work!

We believe that children in Sunnyvale thrive when families, schools, businesses, and the entire community ensure a sustained, enriched, high quality education for all students. This idea was on full display at the Sunnyvale School District's State of the District hosted by San Miguel Elementary School and beautifully decorated by San Miguel families!
We want to thank our community that helped us raise $19,425 at the event! To put this number in perspective, this is slightly less than what SEF spent last year to BOTH send every student at Bishop Elementary School to experience live musical theater AND to purchase musical instruments for musical instruction at all 8 of the elementary schools. This amount of money makes a huge difference, so we thank you!
We specifically want to thank our platinum sponsor Aedis Architects for their support of the event and for designing beautiful spaces for our children to enjoy.
Let’s keep building this community together!

We are thrilled to share that Sunnyvale Education Foundation has been selected to receive Mayor's Award of Excellence at Saturday's State of the City for our contributions to Sunnyvale. The award would not be possible without the partnership of our community, who support us in bringing our vision of enriched, high quality education to fruition.

Please join us at the State of the City to celebrate the many contributors to Sunnyvale. And please continue working in community with us for a Sunnyvale where all children thrive.

Thank you Mayor and the City of Sunnyvale!

Exciting news to kick off the summer: Sunnyvale Rotary chose the Sunnyvale Education Foundation as a community grant recipient! This funding will send 160 Tactile Regulation Sensory Kits to School District elementary school classrooms. These carefully curated kits are designed to help students regulate stress, improve focus, and strengthen executive functioning. We look forward to SSD students getting their hands on these kits in the 26-27 school year. Thank you, Sunnyvale Rotary!
