Tigger Needs Our Help!

Tigger is a gentle and sweet abandoned stray who’s fed outdoors in a local back yard and has been neutered by his caregivers. They recently found him lying n the ground, unable to use his hind legs. A visit to a veterinary surgeon recommended by us at Peninsula CatWorks confirmed that both back legs are badly broken, and one cannot be saved and must be amputated in order to save Tigger’s life. The other leg should heal with lots of cage rest.
Tigger’s people had just spent nearly $2,000 on vet care for another rescued cat and cannot afford to pay for Tigger. They are devastated. Peninsula CatWorks is nearly out of money—we’ve recently helped so many cats and kittens. We need help to help Tigger!

Please, can you help Tigger get his life-saving surgery ASAP? He is in horrific pain and cannot wait much longer! (He will be able to heal in a safe and caring indoor situation.)

Thank you in advance. To help Tigger, please go to:

UPDATE: Thank you to all little Grey's supporters!

We are deeply grateful for all the generous donations. Her surgery is scheduled for September 24th.

We hope you will allow us to use any "extra" funds to pay for surgery for the next un-owned kitten in need. We really want to help a kitten this same age have a chance to save her eye. The complex procedure by an animal ophthalmologist will cost $4,000! Without surgery, the eye would have to be removed.

Thank you again for your amazing donations.-

This Is Little Grey!

Grey is a sweet and friendly polydactyl abandoned kitten who wandered into a colony of community cats—she was clearly asking for help. Her rescuer soon discovered the cause: Grey had a bleeding paw. Upon further examination, it was determined that one of Grey’s extra toes grows downward, preventing her from being able to walk and run correctly. This condition requires surgery.

Please help us at Peninsula Catworks provide this necessary surgery for Grey! She already has a safe and caring indoor foster home where she’ll be able to recuperate. Once healed, she’ll be looking for her purrmanent indoor home.

To contribute toward Grey’s surgery, go to: https://givebutter.com/little-grey-needs-foot-surgery-oew7po. Thanks in advance for your help—without the help of so many concerned neighbors and supporters, we would not be able to provide much-needed and lifesaving care for kittens such as Grey.

UPDATE—WE REACHED OUR GOAL!
We'll let you know how Stanley is doing post-surgery. Thank you to all who helped us reach our goal!

Stanley needs urgent foot surgery!

Please help us at Peninsula Catworks get this sweet boy the help he needs!

Stanley is a sweet, friendly cat who was dumped near a community cat feeding station. The feeders noticed he was limping and not using his left rear foot. They took him to an emergency vet clinic where the vet thought at first he had an abscess but later told the rescuer he needed to go to a regular vet for further diagnosing.

The next vet who examined Stanley took x-rays that showed the bone holding the claw had somehow detached from the bone next to it, leaving an open joint capsule, exposed bone, torn tendons, and severed blood vessels. This kind of injury is highly vulnerable to a deep bacterial infection, which could travel up the leg and eventually cause bone infection or osteomyelitis. It is an extremely painful condition requiring amputation and biopsy.

Stanley is now being cared for indoors, wearing a cone to prevent him from making his injury worse. His rescuer has to soak and clean his paw every 12 hours to minimize infection until he can have the necessary surgery, which will cost at least $2,500.

Your donations will be used exclusively for vet costs. Peninsula Catworks is 100% volunteer staffed with no salaries and only a tiny overhead. Please give as much as you can. Many thanks!

This Is Chimmy!

Peninsula Catworks recently received an urgent request for a very sick little kitten named Chimmy. Chimmy’s rescuer told us she had rescued a stray pregnant mother cat and cared for her until she gave birth to five kittens. The rescuer paid out of pocket to get mom and babies spayed/neutered because she wanted to give all of them a good chance for a healthy life.
Then, mom cat became very sick with severe diarrhea, so the rescuer took her to the vet and paid for her examination and medications. Unfortunately, all the kittens developed the same illness, and one of them—little Chimmy—became much sicker than the others. The vet recommended that Chimmy be hospitalized. Sadly, the rescuer could not afford the hospital stay or diagnostic testing.
Peninsula Catworks covered the cost of Chimmy’s three-day hospital stay and medications. Heartfelt thanks to The Dancing Cat for their kind help in paying for many of the necessary tests. We’re happy to say that Chimmy is now back to good health and looking for her forever home. All of Chimmy’s siblings are now healthy and happy and seeking homes.
Keep posted for the latest news about Chimmy and her mom and siblings. To learn more about what we do at Peninsula Catworks, visit us at: https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/

UPDATE ON PORRANG—SHE’S ON THE MEND!

This past Thursday, Porrang underwent a necessary amputation because previous surgery could not save a badly injured leg. Porrang is currently back at home recuperating and letting her special person know she’s grateful for the love and excellent care. Here at Peninsula CatWorks it does our hearts good to know she’s well on the way to recovery.

Please help little Porrang!

Porrang's leg needs to be amputated. She was hit by a car and needed surgery to heal a shattered leg.

Sadly, her leg repair surgery failed to heal, and she now needs to have the shattered leg amputated. This will spare her the pain she feels limping on a broken leg.

Amputation will cost another $2,300.

Can you please help little Porrang again? Whatever you can afford to donate. Thank you so much!
