The Region 1 Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 WTSDF Region 1 Scholarship Award. Congratulations to Mr. Nathan Burgner of Paresh Martial Arts and to Ms. Keerti Chouhan of Aim High Tang Soo Do. It is our pleasure to award dedicated students who exemplify the ideals of the World Tang Soo Do Association and to WTSDA Region 1 both inside and outside the dojang.

The Region 1 Scholarship Committee is pleased to congratulate Ms. Gelsy Funes Salazar of Reno United Tang Soo Do on being selected as the first recipient of the 2026 BKCN Jerry Stine Scholarship Award. It is our pleasure to make this award to a very dedicated student who exemplifies the ideals of the World Tang Soo Do Association both inside and outside the dojang and has also shown extreme dedication and commitment to the World Tang Soo Do Association as well as Region 1.

Two more days to apply for the Grandmaster Scholarship! This scholarship, funded by the World Tang Soo Do Foundation, provides up to five $7500 scholarships each year. Deadline is 07/15. If you have already applied for the regional scholarship, the application is 95% the same.

Thank you everyone in WTSDA Region 1 who visited the Scholarship Table at Regionals in April. Through your donations for the Silent Auction, cash donations, purchases at the merchandise table, and ticket sales at the Carnival of Masters, you all donated approximately $3700! What a great start to our scholarship fundraising season.

Many high school students are just completing their FINAL AP exam! Send them all as much energy as you can. Also, remind them to get those requests for their Teacher Recs to the teachers now so that they have time to submit before the 06/30/2026 deadline.
