Curtis Lee Sanders Foundation:
The money we raise will be put toward equipment for kids to play in organized youth sports. About Curtis Lee Sanders:
Curtis Sanders grew up just a few feet away from Washington Park in Sunnyvale, which made Little League a huge part of his life as a youngster. Coached by his Dad and cheered by his Mom, Curtis became a great baseball player who was a regular shoe-in
for the All-Star team throughout his little league career at Sunnyvale National. As a 12 year old in Majors, the Phillies won the division and went on to play in the TOC's. The following year as a junior, Curtis' All-Star team won the district and went on to play in Regionals as the District 44 representative. Curtis continued to play through high school, making the Varsity team as a sophomore at Homestead, and played in various hardball leagues thereafter. Beyond the baseball field and more importantly, Curtis was a humble, caring, and loving son, brother and friend who worked extremely hard for his future. Unfortunately, Curtis' life was cut short in a tragic car accident. It was not a coincidence that Curtis was lending a helping hand when his life ended at the age of 20. He is sorely missed and nothing will fill that empty space in our hearts other than to remember and honor him the way he would want us to. That is to be happy, humble, caring, loving, and to spread his love for baseball.
