If you’ve visited or volunteered at AAH, you’ve probably met Jill—she’s our awesome Programs Manager, who has led all kinds of our visits: mobile, private, vocational, and corporate volunteer visits, as well as often leading Tuesday open hours. She’ll be taking a step back from her work at AAH, and we want to say a huge thank you for everything she has contributed to the Smile Farm, and our AAH community. We’ll miss you Jill, and look forward to seeing you around the farm and on visits when you’re able to visit 💜

We’ve been growing milkweed in the garden at the AAH Smile Farm, which means… MONARCHS!

The white dot on the leaf (Photo 3) is a monarch egg. Once the caterpillar emerges from the egg it eats milkweed leaves for up to two weeks, then builds a green cocoon as a home to change into a butterfly! (Photo 2) Once the butterfly emerges it soaks up sunlight and hydrates its wings to strengthen them.
