Calling all high school students!

Join us for the October CAPLE Meeting on Monday, October 19th from 5-7pm as we hear from professional dispatchers and personnel from the Office of Emergency Management. After a tour of the facility, we will participate in a table top scenario with the goal of planning and responding to a Halloween-themed emergency!

Pizza will be provided.

Attendees should arrive in the parking lot of the facility promptly between 4:45 and 5pm. As it is a secure area, we will need to enter as one large group. For those being dropped off and picked up, we will release at 7pm to the same parking lot.

Spread the word. It's going to be a fun and informative night.

Note*- Some GPS apps have trouble with the address. Searching for Ohlendorf West Park at 1150 Hanna may give you better results.

🎤 Nick’s first day with the St. Louis County PAL Media Club, and he knocked it out of the park! 💪🏾👏🏾

One of his best interviews was with Ms. Lindsey, a 5th-grade teacher who also coaches PAL kickball and soccer! ⚽️

📸 I also want to recognize Karl Moore! Karl was one of our very first CAPLE (Careers and Pathways in Law Enforcement) students. Since then, he has graduated with a background in video studies and is now our go-to video guy and PAL Media Club coach!

What makes this even more special is that Karl is already giving back! He started as a student in our program, and now he is using his talents and education to mentor the next generation. That’s what PAL is all about—creating opportunities for our youth and watching them come full circle! 💪🏾💙

Leaders like Ms. Lindsey and Karl Moore are what make PAL possible! Their dedication to our youth goes beyond the classroom and onto the field and into our community.

I’m proud of Nick for stepping up and doing an outstanding job, and I’m proud of Karl for helping our young people develop new skills!

🎥 More videos to come! Stay tuned as our PAL Media Club continues to highlight the amazing people and programs making a difference in our community!

PAL’s 2026 kickball season is in full swing. Nearly 400 kids from 12 Hazelwood School District elementary schools are competing as kickball participants or cheerleaders.

This year, one of the coolest new additions is the founding of our first PAL Social Media Team! Under the guidance of St. Louis County Police Department’s Public Information Supervisor, Ms. Vera Clay, interested PAL members are stepping in front of the camera to gain insight and experience in interviewing PAL athletes and their families as they compete in friendly, weekly games.

Stay tuned to see their journey! Thank you, Ms. Clay, for your generous time and energy!

One of the biggest highlights of the DEA and PAL Teen Leadership Academy was the One Kill Can Kill presentation.

The highly informative and engaging session was presented by four local high school leaders who bravely stepped up to the learn the material, practiced weekly from June through September, and then knocked it out of the park.

The presentation detailed the neuroscience of addiction, modern drug trafficking networks, and hope for recovery for those suffering from addiction to fentanyl and other deadly opioids.

Thank you Daelyn, Emma, Scarlett, and Earl for being tremendous examples for your peers. Your futures are bright.

On Saturday, September 26th, PAL, in partnership with the DEA, hosted 40 high school students from across the county for a full day Teen Leadership Academy at The Saint Louis County and Municipal Police Academy.

Attendees heard from a range of experts covering topics such as professional application to job, using social media to their benefit, mental health and bullying, the value of community college, and engaged in a presentation from peer teen leaders on the dangers of fentanyl and other illicit drugs. The afternoon included a physical training session, time in the virtual training simulator, and a tour of the police academy facilities.

PAL is honored to play a small part in shaping future community leaders into the best versions of themselves. Thank you to all partners who played a part in making the event an enormous success.
