🎓 Congratulations to all of our graduates!

This year, we provided our graduating collegians with Hope Ignites honor cords in our blue, white and orange colors. These honor cords are a visible symbol of everything they've accomplished.

Earning a degree is a major milestone on its own, but our graduates have gone above and beyond. They've balanced academics with the perseverance, leadership, and commitment that are integral to the Hope Ignites journey. These cords represent all of that, and the community that has stood behind them every step of the way.

Wear them with pride. You've earned it. 🧡

📣 Alumni — this one's for you!

Join us on Monday, June 8 at 7:00 PM CT for our next Network-Wide Alumni Call, featuring Andy Hilger. Andy is the former president of a $15 billion global staffing and services firm, Hope Ignites Baltimore board member, and former Residential Counselor at Hope Ignites Northeastern Ohio.

AI is redefining our relationship with work entirely and as someone who has helped more than 10,000 people start new jobs each week, Andy has a front-row-seat perspective on what employability looks like in a rapidly changing world. Fresh off his TEDx Jacksonville talk, he'll challenge us to stop clinging to old career roadmaps and instead embrace curiosity, agility, and lifelong learning as the real drivers of long-term success.

This is a conversation worth sharing. If you know a Hope Ignites alum who could benefit, please spread the word and register in advance at the link below!

We’re halfway through Walk to Hope—and every step you’ve taken matters.

Because of you, miles are turning into momentum for Hope Ignites scholars—fueling opportunities, opening doors, and helping make college dreams possible with the support and scholarships they deserve.

Whether you’ve walked one mile or one hundred, you are part of something bigger. You’re helping scholars access education, build bright futures, and graduate with less financial burden.

👏 Keep going. Keep logging your miles. Keep sharing your “why.”

Two team members and five Hope Ignites alumni recently traveled to Las Vegas for the For All Summit — a three-day conference where leaders from 700+ organizations dig into how high-trust cultures drive real performance.

Our alumni — Pelarr, Michelle, Becky, Luis, and Kenneth — showed up curious, confident, and ready to engage with sitting Fortune 500 CEOs, takeaways in hand on leadership, culture, grit, and growth mindset.

A huge thank you to Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work, for inviting our team as his guests, and to Joe Koenig and Juanita Logan at World Wide Technology for making the introduction that opened the door. Partnerships like these turn possibility into real-world experience for our young leaders.

Hope is alive and well in Mexico! 🇲🇽

Recently, Brian Hipp, Vice President of Mission Effectiveness, and Vivian Mendoza, Latin America Program Supervisor, visited Ser y Crecer, the Hope Ignites affiliate in Mexico. They were hosted by Leticia Lara, Ser y Crecer's Executive Director, and her remarkable team.

The trip was packed with inspiring visits with scholars, collegians, and their families. Despite a challenging post-pandemic environment, Ser y Crecer is doing incredible work by using their residences to house collegians who are committed to bettering their communities through self-directed social projects.

The academy is also making a massive impact virtually, engaging more than 150 scholars in up to 25 hours of weekly "cameras-on" classes ranging from mathematics to music.

Looking ahead, the team also met with board chair Federica Saza to plan for new, in-person Academy programming at safe and accessible attendance centers.

Always great to see that our mission thrives under the care and hard work of team members across the Network!

Santonio Cathery knew early on he was meant for more.

Growing up in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, he spent hours commuting across the city to go to school each day, navigating the realities of gang violence and the drug trade around him. At Hope Ignites Chicago he found the structure to pursue something bigger, from competing in the 2012 Olympic wrestling trials to building a career in finance and becoming a business owner. Now, as a 2026 Legacy of Hope Award honoree, Santonio is creating opportunities for himself and others.
