Turns out all he needed was a foster home, a comfy couch, and a toy to destroy 💕

This we have a great update from adoptable Caiden!

Caiden is a 6-year-old pittie mix who came to us all the way back in January… which means he’s been waiting nearly 5 months for someone to choose him 🥺

Lucky for Caiden, he’s currently living the good life in an amazing foster home!

He’s full of energy, loves his walks, and after a weekend of zoomies and toy demolition, can usually be found passed out on the couch like, “my work here is done.”

His foster says he’s settling in beautifully, sleeps great in his crate, is fully house-trained, and is working hard on his manners. He’d do best in an active home with older kids who can keep up with his playful personality.

This is all about our girl Shelia! 🤩

Shelia is an 8-month-old black GSD, and trust us...this girl is gorgeous! 🖤

She recently headed out on an adventure with one of our amazing volunteers to Forest Park Forever where she enjoyed a nice walk and explored all the sights and smells. She also showed off her adorable head tilt 💕

And of course, no day out of the shelter is complete without a stop at Treats Unleashed for a cookie and some goodies! 🍪

Shelia is your typical young shepherd! She loves being by your side, but she’s also seriously goofy. Her tongue is always out, she’s delightfully floppy, and she’s guaranteed to make you laugh!

Rosie is here to celebrate 🐈

This gorgeous 1-year-old blue torbie is playful, curious, and ready to find a forever home of her own! Whether she’s chasing toys or soaking up attention, Rosie is always ready to bring some fun to your day.

Rosie came to us through our Animal Cruelty Task Force in early April after living in a home with many other cats. Despite her difficult start, she hasn’t let the past dim her spark.

Rosie does have a history of feline herpesvirus, which may cause occasional sneezing during times of stress, but she does not currently require ongoing treatment — just a family who will love her and help her thrive. 💕

We can't get enough of this sweet face 😍

Meet Patches! He's an 11-month-old Pittie mix, but he has that forever puppy look!

Patches is a kind, gentle boy who LOVES to snuggle. One of his favorite things is having a big bed and tons of stuffed animals to snuggle with.

When he first arrived he was very shy and it took him some time (and lot's of volunteer love) to convince him to come out of his shell, but now he's much more confident!

Some heroes bring dogs to safety. Others bring pizza to the shelter staff 🍕🐾

Last week, Jet's Pizza reached out wanting to donate lunch to our shelter team in honor of 🐶❤️

What they didn’t know was that their timing ended up being absolutely perfect.

The day the pizzas arrived, our staff and volunteers were in the middle of triaging and caring for 54 newly rescued pets brought in by our Animal Cruelty Task Force. It was one of those exhausting, emotional, all-hands-on-deck shelter days — and this kindness meant more than we can possibly say.

Rescue work takes a village, and moments like this remind us just how lucky we are to have a community that shows up for both the animals AND the people caring for them 🐾
