🐾 What a Wonderful Day for Pets and Their People! 🐾

Thanks to an incredible team effort, nearly 50 dogs received free important vaccinations and rabies protection at today’s clinic, and many are now safer than ever with the addition of a microchip. These simple services can make a lifesaving difference, helping pets stay healthy, return home if they become lost, and remain with the families who love them.

A huge thank you to the veterinary team and staff at the Saint Louis County Pet Adoption Center for their hard work, dedication, and compassion throughout the event. Their commitment to serving both pets and people made this clinic a tremendous success.

This is exactly what community partnership is all about: working together to keep pets healthy, supported, and out of the shelter system whenever possible. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make the day a success. 💙🐾

Thank you also to Bi-State Pet Food Pantry for donating the goodie bags❤️

They Don't Need Perfect. They Just Need a Place to Land.

Every day, dogs sit in kennels waiting.

Waiting for a walk.
Waiting for a visitor.
Waiting for someone to notice them.

Some have been waiting far too long.

Dogs like Rio.Tango. Coco. T'Challa.

They've watched other dogs leave while they remain behind. They've celebrated birthdays in the shelter. They've learned the routine of kennel doors opening and closing. And despite everything, they still greet people with hopeful eyes, wagging tails, and hearts full of optimism.

The truth is, fostering doesn't have to be forever.

It might be a few weeks.
It might be a month.
It might simply be the bridge that changes everything for a dog who is struggling to be seen in a shelter environment.

A foster home gives us something a kennel never can:
🏡 A chance to learn who they really are.
📸 Better photos and videos.
❤️ A break from the stress of shelter life.
✨ The opportunity to show potential adopters what makes them special.

They're not asking for perfection. They don't need a mansion, a huge yard, or someone with all the answers.

They just need a couch. A routine. A human willing to say, "You can stay here for a little while."

Could that be you?

If you've ever thought about fostering, now is the time. Some of our longest residents are waiting for their chance to exhale, decompress, and remember what it feels like to be part of a family.

Because sometimes the difference between surviving and thriving is simply a front door opening.

‼️UPDATE-FINAL EXTENSION. NEEDS OUT BY 6/2!

🚨 One day. 24 hours. 1,440 minutes. 🚨

That is how long Jim Bob has left to find a hero.

$100 in sponsorship from SAVE and $270 in pledges.

Jim Bob is a 2-year-old brindle boy who is falling apart in the shelter environment. In his kennel, he is constantly panting, jumping, and alarm barking as the stress continues to consume him.

But outside of the kennel, he is a completely different dog.

Playful. Smart. Affectionate. Full of life.

He loves his zoomies, carries his stuffies proudly, and will do just about anything for a treat. Volunteers say he has amazing eye contact, loves to learn, and turns into a cuddlebug once he gets his energy out.

Jim Bob can be strong on leash and overly enthusiastic at times, but this is not a bad dog.

This is a good dog in a bad situation.

He needs someone willing to look past the kennel stress and see the dog underneath it all before it is too late.

Please be Jim Bob’s hero.

UPDATE-TAGGED FOR RESCUE!

🚨 RESCUE NEEDED FOR TATOR TOT! He should have spent last night safe. Loved. Curled up on someone’s couch. Instead, this little brown pocket pittie spent it fighting for his life. 💔

$200 to the tagging rescue from SAVE + $270 in pledges

At just around a year old, this sweet boy came to us as a stray from University City with a dangerously high temperature of over 106 degrees. He was burning up, exhausted, and alone. Staff immediately jumped into action, pouring cool water over his tiny body and starting IV fluids, desperately trying to bring his temperature down before it was too late.

When he stabilized enough, he was rushed to Veterinary Specialty Services for emergency care. He tested negative for parvo, but he is still critically ill and fighting hard. Right now, he is receiving a plasma transfusion and a dextrose drip as the medical team works around the clock to save him.

And somehow… despite everything his body has endured… this morning he stood up and gave kisses to the staff caring for him. 😭

Dogs like this break your heart in the most unfair ways. Because even after being abandoned, even after suffering alone, even while hooked up to tubes and fighting to survive… he still chooses love.

He still trusts. He still gives kisses.

We are desperately hoping one of our rescue partners can step forward to give this boy the chance he deserves. He deserves more than being another forgotten stray. He deserves a name. A warm bed. A family. A future.

Please, if you are a rescue with the ability to help, now is the time. This little boy is fighting with everything he has left. Let’s make sure he is not fighting alone. 💔🐾

Meet Mr. Big: The Main Character You’ve Been Waiting For ✨

Mr. Big is a 2-year-old, 57-pound heartthrob with charm, confidence, and just the right amount of playful drama. He’s dog friendly with a rowdy play style, so he’s always ready for a good time with canine friends who can match his energy.

He’s currently mastering the art of leash walking, because even leading men need a little polishing. But give this guy a game of fetch, and suddenly he’s in his element: happy, focused, and absolutely living his best life.

Mr. Big isn’t just looking for any love story. He’s looking for the one. Could it be you?

🐾Come meet Mr. Big!
