School may be back in session, but many local families are still recovering from the added cost of children being home for the summer.

Through the end of August, Thrivent will match gifts to Crosslines’ Pack a Lunch! campaign, helping us restock our shelves and continue providing nutritious food for some of the 49,000 food insecure children in Greene County.

Help our neighbors begin the school year with full backpacks 🎒, full lunchboxes 🍞, and one less worry.

Pack a Lunch! Because hunger doesn’t take a summer break. When school cafeterias close for the summer, thousands of children lose access to the meals they count on every day. For many families in Southwest Missouri, the grocery budget is already stretched to its limit. Summer simply makes an alrea...

Now THAT was a productive day of volunteering. 🙌

A team of 96 incredible volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came together to wrap 20,000 diapers for the Diaper Bank of the Ozarks, even donating more than $200 worth of cellophane to make sure the project could be completed.

And they didn’t come empty-handed. Together, they also donated:

🩷 3,275 period products
👶 9,949 diapers
🧻 12 packs of wipes
💙 1,228 incontinence products

That’s thousands of essential items ready to reach babies, children, women, seniors and families throughout our community.

Projects this big take a lot of hands, and we're grateful. Thank you for giving your time, your resources and an incredible amount of care to our neighbors in need!

“Nonprofit” describes what we are, but it doesn’t describe why we’re here.

We believe the most vulnerable people in Southwest Missouri deserve to have enough to eat, sleep in a safe space, and have the support they need to build a better future.

That belief is why Crosslines exists. It’s why we feed families, provide shelter, support children, connect people with resources, and step in when a difficult season becomes a crisis.

On National Nonprofit Day, that’s the part of “nonprofit” that matters most to us.

What does it mean when 14,240 children in Greene County are food insecure?

Food insecurity doesn't always mean there is no food in the house. It can mean a family doesn't have consistent access to enough nutritious food. Parents may stretch meals, buy less expensive options, skip groceries to cover another bill, or rely on community resources to make it through the month.

For children, that uncertainty can affect much more than mealtime. Consistent access to nutritious food helps support their growth, concentration, energy and ability to learn.

Through Pack a Lunch!, you can help the Crosslines Food Pantry provide reliable access to food for children and families in our community.

When one of our guests faced the possibility of losing electricity because tree limbs were tangled around her power lines, our case management team stepped in to help find a solution.

Thanks to the generosity of Ryan Lawn & Tree-Springfield, MO , the limbs were safely removed, helping our guest keep her electricity on and one more worry off her shoulders.

This is what case management at Crosslines is about: listening, connecting people with resources, and bringing community partners together to solve real problems.

Generosity grows when community partners come together!

We’re incredibly grateful to Commerce Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines for investing in the work of Crosslines Community Outreach through the Member Impact Fund.

Through this program, Commerce Bank’s commitment to our community was amplified with matching funds from FHLB Des Moines, creating an even greater impact for our neighbors across Southwest Missouri.

Thank you to Commerce Bank and FHLB Des Moines for believing in strong communities and partnering with Crosslines to help local families thrive!

Backpacks are coming out, school supply lists are getting checked off, and the first day of school is getting closer.

But summer hunger isn't over yet.

For families already stretching their grocery budgets, the last few weeks of summer can be some of the hardest. Children are still home for meals they would normally receive at school, while back-to-school expenses are beginning to add up.

Pack a Lunch! helps fill that gap.

Your gift to the Crosslines Food Pantry helps keep nutritious food on the table as families make it through these final weeks of summer and prepare for a new school year. And if you choose, Thrivent will match your gift during the rest of August.

We're grateful to Southern Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines for their generous support of Crosslines Community Outreach!

Their team recently stopped by to present a donation that will help us continue serving individuals and families across Southwest Missouri with food, shelter, case management services, and so much more.

After the check presentation, they stayed to tour our facility and see firsthand how lives are being changed every day through the work happening at Crosslines. It's always a privilege to share our mission with community partners who are invested in creating a stronger, more compassionate community.

Thank you, Southern Bank, for your generosity, your partnership, and your commitment to making a lasting difference 💙
