At Safe to Sleep, women receive a safe place to rest and support to take practical steps toward permanent housing.

Women don't have to arrive with everything figured out. Safe to Sleep is here for women who need a safe place to rest in the middle of a crisis. An evening meal. A hot shower. A good night’s sleep. A secure place to leave their belongings. Those things matter.

Safe to Sleep is an emergency women’s shelter, but every woman who walks through its doors is more than the crisis she is experiencing. She is our neighbor. She has dignity and value. We believe she is deeply loved by God, and we want the care she receives here to reflect that love.

We don't always know what happens after a woman leaves Safe to Sleep. But we know that at least 180 women have moved from the shelter into permanent housing.

On World Homelessness Day, we are grateful for every woman who has come through these doors, and we remain committed to helping women in our community find safety, dignity, and their next step toward stability.

Thank you to the Springfield Police Department officers who spent time serving with us during Faith & Blue Weekend. They joined us at the Diaper Bank of the Ozarks to wrap diapers and help prepare them for distribution through our partner agencies.

Faith & Blue is about bringing law enforcement, faith communities, and neighbors together through service and relationship. We’re grateful for the officers who served alongside us and helped support families across the Ozarks.

We’re grateful to have more than 177 volunteers serving in the Reading Buddy Program this school year, including 48 new volunteers joining us for the first time!

This week, our Reading Buddy volunteers spent a few hours training for the year ahead with Diana Flannigan. Each volunteer will meet one-on-one with a few students each week, reading together, building relationships, and helping students grow in their reading skills and confidence.

We’re so thankful for every volunteer choosing to show up for students in our community. That impact begins one student at a time, but the encouragement, confidence, and skills built through these relationships can make a difference for years to come. We’re excited to see how God works through these volunteers and students throughout the school year.

At yesterday's Crosslines Community Outreach Network Luncheon, Jackie Stone of Three Stone Homes in Springfield, shared some of the art she’s been creating through Jackie Stone Fine Art and the meaning behind it.

Jackie shared some of the history of Three Stone Homes and how the business has grown, along with how she found her way back to creating art over the past several years.

Her art explores a wide range of emotions, and she hopes people can connect with what they see and recognize something of their own experiences in her work. Jackie also shared how returning to art gave her hope, and how that has shaped her desire to create work that can encourage and connect with others.

As a special part of the luncheon, Jackie gave Network attendees the first look at her newest painting.

The Network Luncheon is a great way to connect, build relationships, and enjoy conversation with business leaders and community members from across the Springfield area. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
