Spokane Humane Society Founded in 1897, the Spokane Humane Society is the oldest non-profit (501C3) animal organization in Spokane.

We are not affiliated with the National Humane Society – we are independent. We offer low cost vaccinations, spay/neuter services and adoptions. Spokane Humane Society has been serving the Inland Northwest for over 125 years. Spokane Humane Society focuses on the adoption of companion animals, spay/neuters and vaccinations through our veterinary clinic for shelter animals, no-income clinic services for animals, and our foster care program.

We'd like to give a special shoutout to our Volunteer and Employee of the Quarter, Jerry and Ashley! 🎉

Since joining the Spokane Humane Society family in October 2025, Jerry has dedicated more than 1,000 volunteer hours to fostering cats, supporting our Everyday Adoption Center, assisting during evacuations, attending events, and always lending a helping hand with a smile. His kindness and commitment truly make a difference every day.

Ashley, a valued team member of our veterinary team, was nominated Employee of the Quarter for her hard work, compassion, and willingness to help whenever and wherever she's needed. Whether caring for animals or supporting her coworkers, Ashley is an essential part of our team.

Thank you, Jerry and Ashley, for all you do for the animals, staff, volunteers, and community we serve. 🧡

Button is a 2-month-old kitten looking for love. This tabby is extra sweet, affectionate, and comes with just a dash of sass to keep you on your toes. While she has yet to meet other cats (besides her siblings), dogs, or children, Button is excited to slowly introduce herself to any new friends.

This cute-as-a-Button feline is waiting to meet you at Northpointe PetSmart, 9950 N Newport Hwy, open daily between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

ONE MONTH UNTIL FURRBALL!

For one night, we trade our walking shoes for heels, our hoodies for cocktail dresses, and our everyday routines for an evening that means so much more.

And it's all for animals like Ollie, who was once surrendered to Spokane Humane Society. Today, he has a family who loves him, a place to call home, and a future that once looked uncertain.

But Ollie's story is just one of thousands.

Every day, animals come into our care needing shelter, medical attention, and another chance. Some are sick or injured. Others have lost the only home they've ever known. And throughout our community, families are facing difficult decisions because they simply can't afford the veterinary care their pets need.

That's why this one night matters.

On November 14, we'll come together to raise the funds that make this work possible, not just for one evening, but throughout the year.

Because when the heels come off, the dresses and suits go back in the closet, and the lights go down at FurrBall, the need doesn't stop.

And neither do we.

A wonderful event with some wonderful people. 🧡🐾

Last Friday, AutoNation Subaru Spokane Valley helped us host an adoption event at their dealership. We brought three puppies, two kittens, and our long-term resident, Matcha.

In just three and a half hours, all six animals found their perfect match. After a few happy tears and a whole lot of tail wags and purrs, these deserving animals headed home with their new families.

These perfect matches were made possible thanks to the dedication, compassion, and support of the team at AutoNation Subaru Spokane Valley.

Events like these are only possible because of incredible partnerships. We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to AutoNation Subaru Spokane Valley, , and the ASPCA for helping connect adoptable pets with loving families.
Seeing every animal we brought to the event find a home is a powerful reminder of what can happen when organizations, businesses, and animal lovers come together for a shared cause.

Sweet Daisy! Sometimes the sweetest personalities are the ones that don’t need to make a big entrance.

Daisy is a 2-year-old, 52-pound mixed breed with a gentle, friendly personality and plenty of love to give. She recently came to Spokane Humane Society from our friends at SCRAPS.

Our team is still getting to know this lovely girl. What we know, she’s calm on leash, enjoys attention from people, and has a relaxed, easygoing demeanor. When introduced to another dog, Daisy was a little hesitant at first, but with some time to get comfortable, she was happy to hang out alongside her new acquaintance.

As our longtime FurrBall W**e Partner, Maryhill makes sure every guest has a glass (or multiple 😏) of their red or white w**e to enjoy with dinner. But what makes this partnership so special is their genuine love for animals and their commitment to making a difference all year long.

That smile! 😍 Dolly has a whole lot of personality, and she’s not afraid to show it!

Dolly is a 3-year-old, 55-pound mixed breed with plenty of enthusiasm for life! She’s outgoing, playful, eager to please, and especially motivated when treats are involved.

This happy girl loves making new friends, including other dogs! During a recent introduction with another SHS doggo, Dolly wasted no time offering a play bow before the two were bouncing around together.

Dolly’s excitement can sometimes get the best of her, so she’s looking for an active home where she can enjoy plenty of exercise, playtime, and continued training. She’s still working on keeping all four paws on the ground when greeting people, so families with younger children should keep her enthusiasm in mind. We encourage household members, including resident dogs, to come get acquainted!
