STIX Diabetes Programs Providing year-round programming and summer camps for children and young adults with diabetes.

STIX Diabetes Programs is based on four fundamentals for success:
Support - Campers at our camps will receive the necessary resources to mentally and physically overcome the everyday challenges of having diabetes. Tradition - Camps offers all that traditional summer camps offer, plus a whole lot more! Games such as Capture the Flag, Message to Garcia, A.W.O.L., Counselors Ghost, and activities like arts and crafts, canoeing, swimming and an exciting campfire are part of the tradition of camp. Information - Campers will receive optimum diabetes care from local health care providers and diabetes educators and dietitians. Campers will have the tools and resources to successfully manage their diabetes while at camp by balancing their activity level with their food and insulin intake. X-citement - Camps will never offer a dull moment to children with diabetes. Our summer camp has a ton of activities which will give kids friendship and fun that they will never forget.

We’re looking to grow our Auction Committee this year, and we’d love for you to join us to learn more! Come Monday, October 19, at 6:30 PM for an overview of the Auction Committee, what being part of it involves, what goes on behind the scenes, and the different ways you can help.

Our auction is STIX’s biggest fundraiser, helping make camp possible for children and families with diabetes. You don’t need fundraising experience or special connections to be part of the committee. All you need is a heart for STIX and a willingness to help! Come see if it might be a good fit for you. No pressure to commit!

This first meeting will be in person, but most future meetings will be virtual. Please RSVP to [email protected] to let us know you’re interested and to get the meeting address. We’d love to see you there!

What an incredible evening at the 5th Annual Better Together Celebration hosted by the Kalispel Tribe!

If there is ever a living example of what "better together" looks like, it might just be the relationship between STIX Diabetes Programs and Bear Paw Camp. Every summer, Bear Paw opens their beautiful camp for one week to our kids with diabetes and because of that partnership, hundreds of children have experienced a week where their diabetes does not define them. We are truly better because of Bear Paw, and Bear Paw makes us better.

STIX Diabetes Programs was honored to be in the room with so many passionate nonprofit partners, all working toward stronger communities. The Kalispel Tribe opened their doors, shared their history and traditions, and reminded all of us why connection matters.

And we could not be more thrilled for our friends at Bear Paw Camp, who found the silver ticket and took home $5,000!. Watching them be celebrated last night felt like a win for every child who has ever walked through those camp gates.

Thank you to Kalispel Tribe of Indians for your generosity, your vision, and for reminding us all that we truly are better together. ❤️

🍂🎃 Fall Into Fun is THIS Saturday! 🎃🍂

We’re looking forward to spending the afternoon with our STIX friends! With the nicer weather, we’ll be taking some of the fun outdoors, too. We’ll have games (including a chance to win a prize!), arts and crafts, fall-themed snacks with gluten-free options, and plenty of time to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

Come enjoy some fall fun with families who just get it! We can’t wait to see you! 🍁

Tri-Cities STIX families, come join us for an afternoon of fall fun on Sunday, November 1st at the Gesa Carousel of Dreams!

We’ll have crafts, snacks, fun and, of course, plenty of time to hang out with STIX friends, old and new. And each child with diabetes who RSVPs in advance will get one free carousel ride! 🎠

We had a moovelous day at Long Mountain Meadows last Sunday! 🐮

With 64 STIX friends joining us, there was plenty of fun to be had with the animals and plenty of laughs along the way. We got to meet and interact with goats, chickens, roosters, sheep, mini cows and more. We brushed them, dressed them in bows, and explored the farm. And of course, we had to take a little side quest to the other part of the farm to feed the cows and horses in their own enclosures.

But the kittens may have stolen the show. 😉

When we made our way back to the Cowabunga enclosure, we also got to meet the newest member of the farm, baby pony Jolene. She was absolutely adorable!

As much fun as the animals were, one of our favorite parts of the day was spending time with our STIX friends who just get it. Old friends catching up, new friendships forming, and plenty of laughs and shared experiences. That's the kind of connection that makes these days so special.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made our Moovelous Day so much fun!

Camp STIX and Camp TWIGS may be behind us for the summer, but the generosity that helped make them possible deserves to be celebrated!

From local businesses who donated to our camps to the many individuals who helped fulfill our Amazon Wish List, we are incredibly grateful for the people who stepped up to support our campers and volunteers.

Every donation helped make camp a little more special, whether it was supplies for activities, items that made camp feel like home, or something that helped our volunteers create those unforgettable camp memories.

A special thank-you to Metcalf Dental, South Hill Family Dental, Dexcom, Pepsi's local team, North 40, and the Spokane Valley Quilters Guild, who generously supported our camps in different ways. The Quilters Guild provided beautiful handmade pillowcases for our Camp STIX campers, helping make camp feel a little more like home.

We are also so thankful for the individuals, families, and friends who helped fulfill our Amazon Wish List. Every contribution, big or small, made a difference!

Your generosity helps us create experiences where children living with diabetes can build independence, make lifelong friendships, and simply enjoy being kids with others who get it.

Our next STIX Community Outreach event is going to be MOO-velous!

Join us Sunday, September 27 at 2:00 PM for an afternoon at the farm with Highland cows and other farm animals.

Come ready to:
🐮 Mingle with the cows and other farm animals, feed them treats, and enjoy their hilarious antics
🎲 Play co****le, giant Tetris, and mini golf
📸 Take some fun photos with the animals
💬 Chat, laugh, and spend some time together with other STIX families
🔥 And, weather permitting, gather around a campfire

Thank you for making our Annual STIX Pool Party such a special evening!

We had an incredible turnout this year, with more than 150 people joining us at Comstock Pool—our highest attendance yet!

It was such a fun evening filled with swimming, good food, laughter, and time spent with friends. After everything our community has been through recently, we were especially grateful for the opportunity to spend some time together and enjoy a little bit of summer.

A special thank-you to Better Health Together for their Community Sponsorship of STIX Diabetes Programs. Their support helps fuel our Community Outreach events and allows us to create opportunities for families to connect, build relationships, and access support within our community. We are so grateful for their partnership and commitment to strengthening communities across the region.

And a big thank-you to Kona Ice of Spokane for joining us again this year! You were wonderful as always, and our families loved having you there.

Thank you to everyone who came, helped make the evening possible, and continues to be part of the STIX community.
