• 28% of individuals served by Project R.E.S.T. identified as Black
• 29% of Emergency Domestic Violence Shelter Program residents identified as Black
• 25% of Legal Advocacy Services Program clients identified as Black

This data is not a comparison or celebration. It highlights the continued need for safe, affirming, and accessible support for Black survivors and for all communities.

• More than 40% of Black women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime, compared to 1 in 4 women overall.
• More than 20% of Black women will experience sexual violence in their lifetime.

Many LGBTQ+ survivors face additional barriers when seeking help, including stigma, discrimination, and concerns about accessing affirming services.

In 2025, Project R.E.S.T. provided services to 38 individuals who identified as LGBTQ+.

This data is not a comparison or celebration. It highlights the need for safe, affirming, and accessible support for LGBTQ+ survivors.
