SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Carolina Panthers NFL franchise will continue to hold its summer training camp in Spartanburg at Wofford College at least through 2019, the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce announced today (Monday, Feb. 9, 2015).

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Carolina Panthers summer training camp continues at Wofford College through Tuesday, Aug. 13, and the public may attend practices free of charge to see their favorites – from third-year quarterback Cam Newtown to rookies here for the first time.

The Carolina Panthers return to Spartanburg and Wofford College on Friday, July 26, and we’re excited!

Once again, there will be lots of activities for the community – and lots of volunteer opportunities for you!

The Back to Football Party on Friday, July 26; Play 60 fun day for children of all ages on Saturday, July 27; and Panther Pals throughout camp.

Please review the volunteer opportunities below and let me know whether you’re interested in participating – you can participate in any or all of these. Volunteer slots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. All volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt upon arrival.

BACK TO FOOTBALL PARTY
Friday, July 26
Gibbs Stadium, Wofford College

Duties: Checking IDs/selling drink tickets
Number: 8 volunteers needed
Time: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Gibbs Stadium plaza
Report to: Debbi Thompson or Elizabeth Fields

Duties: Parking attendants for VIP parking area
Number: 4 volunteers needed
Time: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: VIP Parking Area (Across from Gibbs Stadium on Cu***ng Street)
Report to: Debbi Thompson or Elizabeth Fields

Duties: Autograph Wall attendants (encouraging fans to sign)
Number: 3 volunteers needed
Time: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

PLAY 60 CHILDRENS FUN DAY
Saturday, July 27
Intramural Field, Wofford College (Twitty Street across from practice fields)

Duties: Assist with setup, running youth football stations, breakdown
Need: 16 volunteers needed
Time: 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Intramural Field (Twitty Street near practice fields)
Report to: Pete Vacho or Ryan Philmon

PANTHER PALS
Various days/times throughout camp (see schedule below)
Entrance area to practice fields

Duties: Set up registration, conduct registration, fit children for T-shirts, es**rt Pals to practice field, oversee Pals during autograph sessions, es**rt Pals back to registration area and deliver to parents
Number: Two shifts available; volunteers may volunteer for one or both shifts:
Shift 1: 2 volunteers needed for registration
Shift 2: 4 volunteers needed for es**rting Pals while on field
Time: Varies (see below)
Location: Tent outside entrance to practice fields

The Kids' Bike and Big Wheel Race will be Friday, May 3, as part of the Spartanburg Regional Classic. Registration begins at 4 p.m. with the kids' race starting around 6:15 p.m. (We need a couple of volunteers to help with registration. Please email Laura Corbin at [email protected].)
