7 Brew Coffee Gaffney’s Caffeine for a Cause raised over $4,800 this past weekend, and our new partner Sossamon Construction Co., Inc gave another $1,500 to help kick off our United Since 1936: $90k in 90 Days campaign.

That’s $6,300+ for neighbors across Cherokee, Spartanburg, and Union counties.

Mental health affects us all. But too many of our neighbors struggle in silence because they're afraid of how others might see them.

That's why sharing these stories matters. Stories from real people who have lived through mental health and substance use challenges and know what helps, what doesn't, and what gets in the way. Their voices should shape the care our community provides.

United Way of the Piedmont is one of 75+ organizations in Spartanburg County coming together as to address these issues. Together we are bringing local healthcare, schools, nonprofits, businesses, and government officials to shape one shared plan for addressing the mental health crisis in our county. No single organization can do this alone, and no one should have to go through it alone.

When families struggle to put food on the table, it affects every aspect of their lives.

Our Community Resource Coordinators (CRCs) recently teamed up with Ruth's Gleanings to share more than 75 boxes of fresh food with families in Cherokee, Spartanburg, and Union counties.

CRCs walk alongside neighbors as they work toward stability, connecting them to food, housing support, budgeting help, and more.

Congratulations to Chunsta Miller, our 2025-2026 Morgan Award winner!

Since the establishment of our General Daniel Morgan Leadership Society in 1986, the Morgan Award has honored a Leadership donor who gives with the spirit inscribed on the award: "One Who Cares." Chunsta is just that.

Along with her work at Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina and service on numerous other boards and committees, Chunsta serves on our Board of Directors and takes an active role with both African American Leadership Society and Women United. She has a gift for bringing people together and connecting them to what our community needs: the same spirit that drives United Way.

We presented the award on September 29 at our Leadership Society Reception, as members of our General Daniel Morgan Leadership Society and Tocqueville Society gathered with partners to mark 90 years of United Way of the Piedmont.

Thank you, Chunsta, for showing what it looks like to care for our neighbors. And thank you to all our Leadership donors and partners who are shaping what comes next for families across Cherokee, Spartanburg, and Union counties.
