Our Mission: To create a caring, just and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. What does PFLAG do?

WE LISTEN
We listen in confidence to family members who are troubled by a loved one’s coming out, and who don’t know how to cope. WE SHARE
We share our stories and concerns. We talk with people who have “been there” and who might help others on their journey to loving and accepting a gay family member or friend. WE LEARN
We learn from speakers who come to our meetings and teach us skills we can use to help ourselves and others understand sexual diversity. WE ACT
We act on issues that touch on the support of our gay, le***an, bisexual and transgender loved ones.

A message from Spartanburg Pride Sparkle City Pride is just two weeks away, and we could use your help making it a spectacular day!

We are so thankful for everyone who has already committed their time and energy to this event. Our volunteer roster is currently about 20% filled, so we still have plenty of opportunities for others to get involved.

Our biggest need right now is parking support, but we have a variety of roles and shifts available at different times throughout the day. Whether you can give a little time or a few hours, every bit of help makes a difference.

A quick note about signing up: This volunteer sign up is different from the interest surveys and forms shared during the early stages of planning. This link allows you to choose a specific volunteer role and time slot, so please be sure to complete it even if you filled out one of the earlier forms.

If you have been thinking about volunteering, now is a great time to sign up! We would love to have you be part of making Sparkle City Pride a welcoming, fun, and memorable experience for everyone.

Love is an act of bravery and a force that breaks down social barriers. Creativity is the labor of love.

VRTY Arthouse®, PFLAG Spartanburg, and Uplift Outreach Center are coming together to examine love — what it costs, what it creates, and what it challenges.

We are awarding three $1,000 scholarships for students who reside in Spartanburg County or attend a college, university, community college, or technical school located in Spartanburg County. Applications are open to undergraduate students who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community or as allies of the LGBTQIA+ community.
