Spartanburg Period Project

Spartanburg Period Project Our mission is to provide menstrual products to those who have little to no access. We are a chapter of The Period Project. Together we can restore dignity.

We also strive to educate, bring awareness, end the stigma of menstruation in our community of Spartanburg. We are working to make a difference in the lives of homeless and underprivileged women and girls throughout Spartanburg County, South Carolina. As part of The Period Project, we provide menstrual products to the neediest among us. We are busy spreading awareness of this great need and hope for the many women and girls who need to know they are not alone. Get involved today!

Happy Menstrual Health Day! Thank you to everyone who keeps these conversations going!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...but not if you forget to take the picture and then the picture you should have taken can't be taken because the items in the picture have already found their way into Student Packs out for delivery in our Community. So, please help me thank Stacey Bevill for her very kind donation and please forgive my absentmindedness for forgetting to take the picture. Thank you, Stacey!

I don't know where to start other than to give a huge thank you to everyone who came out today, everyone who donated products, and especially to the Spartanburg Period Project Steering Committee who somehow decided that the love for this project outweighed the desire for rest and relaxation. No one will ever know how much work they put in, and I thank them for that.

I often wonder if these events can get any more organized, and while I'm sure there are a few things we can improved on, I can't help but think that this was the best one yet. I asked in the beginning how many of you had attended in the past and I would say that 75% were returning volunteers. That is amazing. The fact that you are the same volunteers who have encouraged new volunteers to join us makes my heart smile.

We came in with approximately 26,619 tampons. We were able to make 3,100 packs, which means that approximately 4,380 more were donated TODAY. That is a HUGE number!!

I can't thank you enough for coming together for a day *on* instead of just taking a day off.

Thank you to the United Way of the Piedmont who were willing to partner with us again to help make this event a success. I hugged so many people and took pictures with even more. Thank you for showing up and showing out. We could NOT do this without you.

I hope that you are each at home resting.

Many, many thanks.
