Alongside the Eye Bank Association of America and our Precision Ocular Network colleagues, we'll help raise awareness about cornea donation and transplantation, honor selfless donors who gave the gift of sight, celebrate recipients whose lives have been transformed, and educate about donation while encouraging individuals to register as donors. Eye Donation Month officially begins today!

This year we're using the theme, "It Only Takes a Minute" to emphasize how quick and easy it is to give the gift of sight and life by registering as a donor after making an informed, meaningful decision of generosity.

We encourage our members, donation community partners, and all champions of sight restoration to join us all month long as we raise awareness about cornea donation and transplantation, honor the gift of sight, celebrate corneal transplant recipients, educate about eye donation, and encourage individuals to register as donors!

Observed from September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes and celebrates the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of those whose families came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. We invite you to help us honor the legacy of Hispanic and Latino donors, recipients, healthcare professionals, and community leaders who continue to shape a more inclusive and lifesaving system.
So far this year, 1,485 donors from these communities have given the ultimate gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donation. There are also over 26,000 people from the Hispanic/Latino community currently on the national transplant waiting list.
