Sertoma Legacy Playground will be the first all inclusive playground in Sioux Falls! Coming soon to Sertoma Park!

What makes a playground inclusive? It’s the design choices most people overlook.

Ramps make it possible for a child using a walker or wheelchair to reach the top deck. Musical instruments and activity panels offer sensory play opportunities. Calming areas provide a quiet place to rest. Every path and walkway has room for a wheelchair to pass through. These are just a few of the design considerations we advocate for.

Inclusive design means EVERY child can play side-by-side. 💙

❤️ 24 HOURS ON 8TH STREET — A NIGHT THAT REMINDS US WHY SERVICE MATTERS. ❤️

Tonight, Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma had the privilege of coming together for a special showing of 24 Hours on 8th Street at the The Sioux Falls State Theatre.

What started as a simple question — What would happen if someone found themselves homeless in Sioux Falls with nowhere to go? — became a powerful documentary exploring the realities of homelessness right here in our community.

The film challenges us to look beyond stereotypes, recognize the barriers our unhoused neighbors face, and see the humanity, resilience, and hope that exist even in the most difficult circumstances.

👏 A heartfelt thank you to Rudy Navarrete, Everett Palmer, Sean Baker, and everyone involved in creating this documentary. Thank you for asking the difficult questions, sharing stories that deserve to be heard, and reminding us that awareness is only the beginning. Real change happens when we turn compassion into action.

❤️ An equally heartfelt thank you to all of the area nonprofits featured in the film for the incredible work you do every day. By bringing compassionate care directly to individuals experiencing homelessness, you’re restoring dignity, building trust, and making a difference where it’s needed most.

And thank you to everyone who joined us tonight, supported this important conversation, and contributed winter gear to help our neighbors as colder weather approaches!

At Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma, our motto is Service to Mankind. Tonight was a powerful reminder that service doesn’t always begin with a grand gesture. Sometimes it begins with listening, understanding, and choosing to see the person rather than their circumstances.

The documentary may be 24 hours on 8th Street, but the responsibility to care for our neighbors extends far beyond those 24 hours.

Let’s keep the conversation going. More importantly, let’s keep showing up. ❤️
