Closer to Home is getting closer! 🏠

On October 8, we'll come together for Bellwether Housing's annual Closer to Home event, bringing community members, partners, donors, housing advocates and supporters together around one shared goal: creating more opportunities for people to find a place to call home.

This year's theme, Welcome Home, celebrates the communities we're building together and the people who make them special.

We're excited to welcome economist Raj Chetty as our featured speaker and gather with more than 800 members of our community.

We can't wait to see you there!

Everyone deserves a place to call home.

On World Homeless Day, we’re reminded that housing is more than a roof over your head. A stable home provides safety, security and a foundation for building a life.

Affordable housing plays an important role in creating that stability for people and families across our region. At Bellwether Housing, we work every day to create stable communities and connect people with homes near jobs, transit and essential services.

Because everyone deserves the opportunity to feel at home in their community. 🏠

We’re excited to share that Bellwether Housing has been selected as one of the inaugural Redmond Spotlight 20! 🎉

Presented by OneRedmond, the Spotlight 20 recognizes 20 businesses, nonprofits and community organizations making a meaningful impact in Redmond. Bellwether was recognized in the Building Redmond category for our community-centered work on Prisma in Overlake.

Through extensive engagement with residents and community organizations, Prisma’s design was shaped by the people and communities it will serve, including gathering spaces, community rooms, culturally responsive features and space for nonprofit services.

We’re proud to be part of Redmond’s growing community and grateful to OneRedmond for recognizing our work to create affordable homes and stronger communities. 🏠💙

What happens when affordable housing and public transportation are close together?

Opportunity gets closer, too.
Living near transit can make it easier for residents to get to work, school, appointments, parks and the people and places that matter most, without relying on a car for every trip.

That's why Bellwether works to create affordable homes in neighborhoods with access to transportation and community amenities.

Affordable housing isn't just about where you live. It's about what you can reach from home. 🚆🏠

Affordable housing isn't just about creating homes. It's about creating access to opportunity.

When affordable homes are located near public transportation, schools, parks, jobs, community services and other neighborhood amenities, residents can spend less time and money getting where they need to go and more time living their lives.

That's why location matters. And it's why Bellwether works to create affordable homes in communities where residents can put down roots and thrive.

A new school year brings new routines, new opportunities and a fresh start. For families, having a safe and stable home can make all the difference.

Affordable housing gives families a foundation where children can focus on school, parents can build stability and everyone can feel a little more at home in their community.

This back-to-school season, we're celebrating the homes and communities that help families thrive. 📚🏠

Construction is almost underway at Brightwood! 🚧

On September 4, Bellwether Housing closed on 53 affordable homes in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood, including 32 family-sized two- and three-bedroom apartments. Located next to the North Seattle Boys & Girls Club, with services provided by FamilyWorks, Brightwood will connect residents with housing, opportunity, and supportive community resources.

We'll welcome our first residents in early 2028.

A huge thank you to our partners, including Encore Architects, Absher Construction Co., and FamilyWorks, for helping make this exciting new community possible. We can't wait to share construction updates as Brightwood takes shape!

There's something special about fall in Seattle. 🍂

Crisp mornings. Changing leaves.

Neighborhood walks. Parks, coffee shops and community events. It's a season that invites us to slow down and enjoy the places we call home.

At Bellwether Housing, we're proud to create affordable homes in communities where residents have access to the parks, transit, schools, services and neighborhood amenities that make Seattle such a special place to live.
Because home isn't just an apartment.

It's a community, too.

Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsors Airbnb and Walsh Construction Co.Walsh Construction Co. Construction, and to all the organizations and individuals who stand alongside Bellwether. Together, we are creating affordable homes, strengthening neighborhoods, and helping ensure that people of all incomes can continue to be part of the communities they help make whole.
