Access to sports starts with access to care.

This week, Sports in Schools partnered with Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic and Kent School District to provide free sports physicals for student-athletes, helping them take an important step toward participating in the sports they love.

A special thank-you to the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic team for providing compassionate, high-quality care and to Kent School District for helping make this event accessible to students and families. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and shared commitment to removing barriers to school sports.

Sports in Schools proudly welcomed high school girl athletes from across King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties to the University of Washington for our 2026 Girls Leadership Summit.

Centered on the theme “Raise Your Voice,” the three-day summit provided participants with opportunities to strengthen their leadership skills, build confidence, and form meaningful connections through workshops, reflection, movement, and community-building activities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the facilitators, chaperones, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and families who made this experience possible. Most importantly, we thank every participant who showed up ready to learn, lead, and support one another.

We are proud to invest in the next generation of women leaders.

This past weekend, Sports in Schools had the opportunity to attend the inaugural YMCA Girls High School Flag Football Team Camp at Camp Casey on Whidbey Island. It was inspiring to connect with athletes, coaches, and leaders from across Washington who are helping grow the game and create more opportunities for young women in sports.
We were honored to introduce Sports in Schools, share our mission of removing barriers to youth sports, and connect with the passionate coaches and student-athletes who are helping shape the future of the game.
Thank you to YMCA Camp Casey and all of the incredible partners who made this weekend possible. We’re excited to continue supporting the growth of girls flag football across our state!
