We're endorsing the No Hate in WA State campaign. These two initiatives on the November ballot threaten the safety of all Washington students, putting them at greater risk of harm at home and at school.

Vote NO on I-001 and I-638 this November.

For the past few years we've been advocating for many of the changes included in the recent Meta settlement. How would I-645 impact WA kids and families? Find out in Dr. Soleil Boyd's op-ed in ParentMap!
"We all want to live in a Washington where our children have access to high-quality education and nutritious food, and where working families can find childcare and afford basic household essentials. I-645 doesn’t bring us closer to that vision. I’ll be thinking of my family’s future when I vote no this November."

If passed, I-645 would eliminate $13 billion from the state budget, resulting in significant cuts to programs families rely on like K–12 education and healthcare.

We were thrilled to present Representative April Berg with her 2026 Champions for Children award last week!

We celebrate Rep. Berg's leadership on one of the most consequential equity policies of the 2026 legislative session: the Millionaires Tax. She was instrumental in shaping the final legislation through amendments to Senate Bill 6346, which ensured that 5% of the revenue generated each year will be dedicated to child care and early learning, an especially critical investment as funding for these systems has been cut two years in a row.

Our Executive Director Dr. Soleil Boyd met with Senator Jamie Pedersen today to present him with his 2026 Champion for Children award!

We thank Senator Pedersen for his leadership as the primary sponsor of Senate Bill 6346, the Millionaires Tax, which passed during the 2026 legislative session. This landmark policy marked a powerful step toward correcting Washington’s deeply imbalanced tax system, where those with the least have long carried the heaviest burden. By asking Washington millionaires to contribute their fair share, the law created new opportunities to invest in what children and families need to thrive, like stable child care and early learning opportunities, accessible health coverage, and progress toward universal free school meals.

WA dropped to 17th in national rankings for overall child well-being according to the recently released 2026 KIDS COUNT® Data Book.
