🚨ACTION ALERT— URGE LEGISLATORS TO OPPOSE SENATE BILL 74.

SB 74 is a bill that would criminalize librarians for their professional decisions and it is once again moving in the Georgia House.

The House judiciary Non-Civil Committee will hear SB74 TOMORROW, Tuesday, February 3rd, at 3pm.

SB74 would:
-Remove long-standing legal protections for public and school libraries
-Expose librarians to criminal prosecution, including possible jail time
-Limit access to libraries for students and families
-Invite costly litigation payed for by Georgia taxpayers

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Most people won’t be able to attend the hearing, and that’s okay. It’s important to contact legislators and committee members to urge them to oppose SB 74 and stop it from moving forward.

President’s Day at the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace | Celebrating Women’s Voting History

Please save the date for President’s Day, February 16, when we will gather at the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Museum to celebrate women’s voting history and the power of civic participation.

That evening, League members in attendance will receive a special “Votes for Women” sash, inspired by the sashes worn by suffragists who marched, organized, and demanded a voice long before it was guaranteed.

This is more than a keepsake.

Imagine it framed in your home.
Imagine wearing it to a march or rally.
Imagine explaining to a younger generation why those words still matter.

Voting rights were not given freely. They were claimed through courage, persistence, and collective action. This sash is a tangible reminder of that history and of our shared responsibility to protect the right to vote today.

Sashes will be available only to League members attending the event, and quantities are limited.
