What an incredible two days we had last week with Savannah Country Day School's Mini-mester students! We explored the salt marsh by kayak and ventured out by boat to Wassaw Island, where Kristen from the Caretta Research Project led a hands-on Loggerhead Sea Turtle experience - an unforgettable opportunity for these students!๐Ÿข๐Ÿ’š

And speaking of the Caretta Research Project...their fundraiser is tonight, and the auction is LIVE! Donโ€™t miss your chance to bid on our WiSE Blackwater Paddle Adventure here: https://tinyurl.com/yyknnszh

Yesterday, we had a great time at Andrea B. Williams Elementary leading our hands-on Watershed Activity! ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’ง

During this lesson, students learned about watersheds and how to protect our water resources from both point source and nonpoint source pollution. Best of all, they had a blast getting creative and building their own โ€œwatershedsโ€ while learning through experience!

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Lower School students from Savannah Country Day School on a field trip to the Savannah Coastal Refuges Complex! ๐ŸŒฟ

Students began the day with hands-on exploration at Kingfisher Pond, collecting benthic macroinvertebrates and discovering how these tiny creatures can reveal the health and cleanliness of the water. ๐Ÿ’ง After lunch at the Education Pavilion, the fun continued on the Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive, where students had a blast spotting at least 20 alligators along with other amazing wildlife! ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŠ

"Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean." โ€“ Ryunosuke Satoro ๐ŸŒŠ. Kayaking is a wonderful way to build stronger teams - working together to navigate the currents while simply enjoying each other's company.

Yesterday, WiSE had the pleasure of guiding AmPhil employees on an outdoor kayaking adventure as part of their business retreat in Savannah. It was a joy to witness collaboration in action as colleagues paddled alongside one another, offered support, and shared meaningful time outdoors.

Experiences like these remind us that connection, communication, and a little fresh air can go a long way in strengthening teams.

Weโ€™re grateful for the opportunity to get outside, explore our beautiful waterways, and grow togetherโ€”one paddle stroke at a time.๐Ÿšฃโ€โ™€๏ธ
