Meet Our Teacher-Mentors! 🧡

First up, meet Altrenia Johnson, Program Director of Elevate Savannah! For the past four years, Altrenia has helped create a welcoming environment where students feel supported, encouraged and, most importantly, like family.

For Altrenia, being a Teacher-Mentor is about more than showing up for students today. It’s about being the positive role model her community needs and helping shape a brighter future for the next generation.

“I Elevate because my community needs more positive role models. My future and my children’s futures depend on me being the change I want to see in the world.”

We’re excited to introduce you to more of the incredible Teacher-Mentors who make Elevate Savannah’s mission possible!

Mentorship is more than advice. It’s consistency, connection and someone who continues to show up. 🧡

Elevate Savannah surrounds students with support throughout their educational journey. Teacher-Mentors develop long-term relationships with students while providing mentorship, academic support, leadership development and career preparation.

The goal extends beyond helping students succeed today. It’s about equipping them with the skills, relationships and confidence to thrive in school, pursue their goals and contribute to their communities.

Your gift helps us continue this work. Donate today and help Elevate Savannah invest in students for the long term.

A night of leadership. A night of community. A night of impact. 🧡

We’re still reflecting on the incredible 4th Annual Elevate Savannah Leadership Awards Dinner and the many people who came together to make it possible.

As we celebrated three remarkable community leaders, Helen Downing, Dr. Jermaine Whirl and Dr. Shirley James, we were reminded of what can happen when Savannah comes together to invest in its young people.

Thank you for celebrating with us, supporting our mission and helping us continue to elevate the next generation. ✨
