Penelope loves pets! 💜

Penelope is a 2-year-old scruffy sweetheart with a HUGE heart and an even bigger personality! At 57 lbs, she’s the perfect combination of playful, goofy, affectionate, and absolutely convinced that wherever you are… that’s where she needs to be.

Penelope is potty trained, walks pretty well on a leash, and LOVES to play! Toys? Yes. Other dogs? YES! Her favorite people of all shapes and sizes? Of course!

She’s still working on remembering that when her people come home, four paws on the floor is the goal. She gets SO excited to see you that sometimes the excitement takes over! She’s also learning that cats are interesting little creatures who may not always appreciate her enthusiasm.

And then there’s Penelope’s favorite feature: she’s a certified Velcro dog. She will happily follow you from room to room, curl up beside you (or on you), and snuggle all night long if you let her. She doesn’t just want a home — she wants a person of her own.

Penelope does have one important request: she’d prefer her human to accompany her outside for potty breaks. Being left outside alone is simply unacceptable in her opinion, and she may even attempt a little fence-climbing adventure if she feels abandoned. She’s happiest when she’s with her people, where she feels safe and loved.

If you’re looking for a playful, cuddly, loyal best friend who will follow you everywhere and make sure you’re never lonely again, Penelope might just be your girl!

Hello all hoomans. It is I, the adorable cuddler of all times, Belgium. I love playing tug of war, especially when I think I’m winning, but in reality I’m not. Sitting on the couch? Blankie not necessary, I will be your blankie since I dont believe in personal space. I will watch you while in the shower, in case I need to save you. Getting up for any reason? I am your shadow. My love is ferocious. Did you just sneeze? I will give you kisses so you feel better.

Ice cubes? Yes please! Car rides? Yes, but I get nervous getting into your big truck but once I’m in, I adore it. Ears are flopping in the wind!

I do need a fenced in yard since in one small leap over a 4ft fence I fly! But I come right back, just needed to do a quick sweep of the perimeter.

I get along with all 4 of my foster siblings, big (and I mean BIG) and small. Foster mom’s goats refuse to play with me (rude) but I have become fast friends with Jake the Jerk Donkey, he gets me.

I’m hoping my furever family is out there. All applications are being accepted as long as they love snuggles, sharing the bed and long walks with lots of sniffs and treats.

Stillwell is a very happy go lucky short stack guy!

He came to us through Effingham County Animal Shelter after almost five months in residence. While he plays well with other dogs, he sees cats as toys to be chased. He’s a good bit on the rotund side, so he needs daily exercise to bring him back down to a proper scale. He loves to sit with you and will stay longer for a good head scratch.

The dog days of SUMMER are here! Summer girl had a rough start (she was seized by animal control after having been left in a crate in 115 degree heat index), but she has blossomed into a well-rounded, people-loving companion! Summer is not a big toy-loving dog. She reserves that energy for her people and anyone else who comes to say hello. Gets along fine with most dogs she meets, but can be dog selective. Other than some fence running at her foster home, she is mostly a low-energy couch potato who likes a daily meandering walk. She loves to be outdoors, and a home that has a doggy door where she can go in and out would be perfect for her. She is crate trained and settles well on car rides,. Summer will make a family with older children or a couple very happy!

Could you name a sweeter face? Bernard and his bestie, Bianca (adopted!), were picked up as strays by a local animal control. He’s a sweet, happy boy just looking for some human attention. He’s definitely a beagle though - his baying bark is very distinctive!
