Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless Founded in 1989, CSAH acts as a coordinating and leadership body for homeless services in Chatham County.

The CSAH mission is to lead the effort to build and sustain community practices to reduce homelessness to achieve “functional zero.”

In her remarks at CSAH's Annual Meeting, Board Chair Karen Guinn spoke to the power of shared leadership and the collective responsibility we all have in creating a community where everyone has access to safety, stability, and opportunity.

Real progress happens when communities choose to work together. It happens when leaders, service providers, funders, advocates, and neighbors unite around a common goal.

We are deeply grateful for the partners and supporters who continue to stand alongside us in this work. Your commitment helps turn hope into action and vision into impact.

Together, we can accomplish more than any of us could alone.

Ending homelessness is not the work of any one person or organization. It is a shared responsibility that requires partnership, compassion,
and action.

At this year's CSAH Annual Meeting, our board members reflected on the importance of community collaboration and the collective effort required
to create lasting change for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

And as Jenn Davenport so thoughtfully reminded us, "Love is an action word."

Every act of service, every partnership, and every investment in our community helps move us closer to a future where everyone has access to

This week, we'd like to extend our heartfelt thank you to E. Shaver, Bookseller for their generous donation of over 100 books to the Dundee Cottages library 📚💙

A home is more than four walls and a roof. It is a place for learning, growth, comfort, and new beginnings. Thanks to this thoughtful donation, residents will have access to a wide variety of books that can provide entertainment, inspiration, education, and a sense of connection.

Hope is built through community.

The CSAH team was honored to attend Union Mission's Night of Hope on June 4 and spend the evening alongside organizations, supporters, and community members who share a commitment to serving our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

We're thankful for the opportunity to celebrate the incredible work being done throughout our community and to be reminded that meaningful change happens when people come together with compassion and purpose.

The FY2026 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition is now underway! This federal funding opportunity supports local programs that work to end homelessness in Savannah/Chatham County.

The Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless (CSAH) serves as the Collaborative Applicant for our community, administering the local competition, supporting applicants, and submitting our community’s consolidated application to HUD.

What you should know:
- This year’s competition is highly competitive and performance-driven
- Funding is focused on measurable outcomes and long-term stability
- Priority is placed on programs that help people:
- Secure permanent housing
- Increase income and employment
- Access supportive services and treatment
- HUD is encouraging a balanced system of care, including:
- Transitional Housing
- Supportive Services & Outreach
- Continued funding for Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Re-Housing

BIG NEWS… and this one comes with a lot of laughs.

We’re excited to share that CSAH has been selected as the beneficiary of proceeds from a special one-night comedy event hosted at SCAD - The University for Creative Careers’s Trustee Theater on May 17!

As Universal Studios films in our community, they’re also giving back in a meaningful way by supporting efforts to help reduce and end homelessness in Savannah and Chatham County.

The evening will feature legendary comedian Judd Apatow alongside an incredible lineup of performers for a night of comedy, community, and impact.

This is a unique opportunity to bring awareness, energy, and support to the work happening every day to create pathways to housing stability in our community. And yes, supporting the mission has officially gotten a little funnier. 😊
