💙 RESOURCE OF THE DAY: THE CUBBY SAFETY BED 💙

Did you know that Medicaid, private insurance, waiver programs, or grants may cover all or part of a Cubby Safety Bed when it is medically necessary?

The Cubby Safety Bed is designed for children with safety-related sleep needs, including:

❤️ Wandering or elopement
💛 Falling from the bed
💚 Entrapment concerns
💙 Self-injury
❤️ Sensory or sleep challenges

To begin the process:

✅ Speak with your child’s doctor or OT/PT
✅ Request a prescription and Letter of Medical Necessity
✅ Find a medical-equipment supplier that accepts your insurance
✅ Have the supplier submit the request for approval

Helpful tip: Keep a written record of nighttime safety concerns, injuries, wandering incidents, sleep disruptions, and solutions you have already tried.

🌈 AUTISM DOESN’T HAVE ONE LOOK 🌈

When some people hear “autism,” they picture a child who is non-speaking, avoids eye contact, plays alone, or loves trains. Those traits may be part of one person’s experience—but they do not represent the entire autism spectrum.

An autistic child may:

💙 Speak early, late, or use few or no spoken words
💚 Make eye contact sometimes, often, or not at all
💛 Have deep interests in many different subjects
❤️ Seek sensory input or become overwhelmed by it
💜 Repeat words or phrases
🩵 Mask their distress until they feel safe

A child should never be denied understanding, evaluation, or support simply because they do not fit a stereotype.

Autism is a spectrum. Every autistic person has their own strengths, needs, communication style, and experiences.
