We love seeing the artists of bringing ideas to life! SARC has commissioned student artists to create a project our Director has been waiting to do for years - an aquaponics coloring book!

It's not just ANY coloring book though, it'll be a miniature graphic novel crossing art with science in a kid friendly format. Look for more updates soon!

Featured plants of the day for our upcoming plant sale March 28th (see website for full details on the new times & model). Tea olives, camellias, and azaleas (including native) are quintessential, historic plants in Southern Gardens, where they have been cultivated in gardens since colonial days. We will have all of these plants including over 20 cultivars of native azaleas - the largest selection in the region.

We don't have the whole story, but a military helicopter had an emergency landing in our field this afternoon!

Edit: Yes, I confirmed with the MP on site that it was an emergency landing before I posted this. They had been in the field since around 3:30 pm so I thought it was old news.

Sweet start to the day for our honey bees at SARC! ๐Ÿ โ˜€๏ธ

They are very active today because of the warm weather. Keep an eye out for them. Foraging on the unseasonably early blooms all over the Armstrong Campus. ๐ŸŒน

"How long does your lettuce last?"

We get this question a lot! My family just (today) made BLT sandwiches with lettuce I harvested before Thanksgiving break. I'll let that speak for itself.

Some of our lettuce appears to be growing vertically! This is actually a process called bolting and happens at the end of its life cycle when itโ€™s ready to reproduce.
